After 12 years of working with these people, I can tell you...the "Poor me" attitude and the "I deserve more free stuff" mentality is DEFINITELY present. The herd mentality of those particular people is disgusting. And you know what's even worse? A HUGE majority of those who collect public assistance do not use the money to support their children, pay rent, pay for a car, buy a set of nice clothes to do a job interview, etc. Most of the time, it goes into their nose, into their arm or it gets smoked. This is probably the number one way welfare money gets spent.

I think the most frightening statistic he quoted was this: only 30% of Americans pay more in taxes than they get back in benefits. That means the 30% is supporting the 70%.

I don't know where he got the 30% figure from, but he is correct in stating that we will hit a point of diminishing marginal returns should we continue to fund certain programs in an expansionary phase. Unfortunately, his plan, the same one that Romney espouses, would do little to help the economy recover at a quicker pace.
