To my knowledge, the beings there now have to do with the origins of the Moon itself, and its artificial construction.

It was put in place to function as a Mind Control tool, and it affects people mentally and spiritually, keeping mankind from evolving or breaking free from their chains.

The Apollo missions staged and hoaxed their photographic material because of what they found there, and it is possible that they never even got to land there at all.

They are physical people, humans, not that different from us, since we came from the same place.
