Is the Georga vs SC game usually that bad that they can use it as an excuse? “Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.” -Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C |

I saw on yahoo news that the US navy's newest battleship is in new york habor from some special event. In Ca, www.ready.gov has been playing TV commercials urging Dad's to be a hero by preparing the family for a natural disaster. Seems like if you were prepared for a natural disaster, you would also be prepared for civil unrest. Sure hope this is a whole bunch of nothing. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 22665853 United States 10/04/2012 08:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | wow Quoting: pink cat [link to en.wikipedia.org] Posse Comitatus Act The Posse Comitatus Act is the United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385, original at 20 Stat. 152) that was passed on June 18, 1878, after the end of Reconstruction. Its intent (in concert with the Insurrection Act of 1807) was to limit the powers of local governments and law enforcement agencies in using federal military personnel to enforce the laws of the land. Contrary to popular belief, the Act does not prohibit members of the Army from exercising state law enforcement, police, or peace officer powers that maintain "law and order"; it simply requires that any authority to do so must exist with the United States Constitution or Act of Congress.[citation needed] ???? somebody should help wikipedia update that there. that seems like a pretty huge thing to declare with no citation at all. the law should be clear. I'm not gonna lie. Anytime I read a post or even scroll through the post and read comments, I usually back out of the thread completely when I see your picture. Looks like this thread was a waste just as well. |

South Carolinian B&R User ID: 22899606 United States 10/04/2012 09:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Their going to need more than some 18 or 19 year old Army MP's to handle that rambunctious crowd. They might be okay with Marines or some SEALs, but Army will be running for the hills when they see the insanity going on in the Vista and Five Points. I have been to many a crowded USC game and they have a tendency to get a little carried away, especially at a 7pm game (late game=longer time to get wasted). With 40 or 50 thousand crazed college co-eds passing around all sorts of drugs and booze for 10 to 12 hours before the game even starts, this could put the weekend of the zombies in Miami to shame. I just hope Columbia is still standing after this game, could be another Sherman's March. If you have a family weekend planned for Columbia, SC that weekend, steer clear and thank the MP's for even giving a shit. This was a basketball game which has a fraction of the attendance of a football game and is confined to a B-ball court. They're going to be doing this all over the town until the sun comes up. If you are a DUI lawyer, this is the weekend that pays for the summer home and the Porsche 911. Go Cocks! |
