Circle K. I commented to the night manager there on the prices and said I heard there would be shortages. She asked me where I heard it, I said online, but it could be bullshit. She said, no it's not bullshit, there will be shortages. She seemed surprised that the sheep caught on so fast. LOL |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 23812271 Australia 10/05/2012 08:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In Alberta we're paying about $1.14 a litre. It takes 3.78 litres to make a gallon. so in the states i guess that would be about $4.30 a gallon. In Ontario when i moved i payed $1.42 a litre or $5.36 a Gallon so yea thats getting up there. When i first got out here a year ago gas was less than a dollar a litre and i didnt see that back home in Ontario for years prior to that. Quoting: Infamous-Pigeon Yep - Thats about what we pay in West Australia. $1.42 a litre. But it does go down on certain days to maybe $1.32 etc. What we cannot understand over here is why it goes up and down in price. It is manipulated apparently but we do have to price according to Singapore. |

We bought a couple today and filled them, along with both cars. I will probably get 2 more cans tomorrow and fill them, too. Damned plastic cans were 20.00 each by themselves. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17851333 just a question: is it safe to put gas in plastic cans and how long can you hold it, before is getting bad? |

I think gallon milk jugs used to work, but you don't want something that the gas can eat through. Get the right cans for gas is the best I can tell you. I don't know how long, think gasoline sitting around for the lawn mower, it can sit for months and the mower still goes. And there is some kind of chemical you can buy as an additive to make gas store longer. I don't know what it is. Haven't gotten that far yet. ugh |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 17851333 United States 10/05/2012 09:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The difference in the UK is that we have our life style because of high prices and poor public transport. Quoting: lightchild_uk Someone earlier in this thread mentioned about driving hours a few times a week to see their grandchildren in a football game. People in the UK don't do that sort of thing because of the high cost in fuel. Most people only make necessary journies like commuting and shopping for food. This article from 1 year ago [link to www.bbc.co.uk] "Drivers have cut their petrol consumption by more than 15% since the credit crunch and the recession. The AA has calculated that petrol sales in the first six months of 2011 were 1.7bn litres less than in the same period three years ago." Once I get home from work Friday night my car stays on the drive until Monday morning. Like most people I do not go out any more because of high fuel costs and it is killing our economy. One of the things I cannot understand is why people in the USA commute so far, why don't you just move nearer your place of work? How much time do you spend commuting everyday? A 60 mile commute for me would take 2.5 hours with the traffic. Public transport is not that good in the UK unless you live in a city and even then it is expensive. But as someone pointed out before at least we have free healthcare. We commute so far because many of us work jobs that are not in the same location every day, and in the case of my husband, he hardly works in the same location for a week, if he gets a two week job in one location, we are very lucky unless it is far. He's an electrician. Same thing goes for plumbers and others who don't work office jobs at the same site each day. It really sucks, my husband's commute next week is 150 miles round trip daily! We're in so cal. |

Gasoline had dropped here over the last couple weeks. Today regular unleaded in Tulsa was $3.41 per gallon. Thankfully, I didn't have to fight anyone to fill up the wife's Durango nor even bother with a line either. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 22614437 United States 10/05/2012 11:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It frustrates me that there are many people around the world who want to compare their gas prices to ours. The tax system and health care system in those countries are different than what we pay here. I think realistically only other US state citizens can compare their gas prices to what we pay in CA. I have heard many people say, oh, "they" live in CA, "they" can afford it. My family, and most families I know here in Southern CA, only make $35-$70K a year. We are very low end middle class, just like most Americans, and are living paycheck to paycheck. It will be hard to come up with an extra $100+ for gas money each month. It sickens me as I drive past the pumps. I am afraid to drive and leave the house and waste a single precious drop I have in the tank. a sidenote... I find the timing of the entire situation to be awfully suspicious when they are talking about putting our nuclear power plant back online within the next few weeks. I don't know if they are connected, but I've been around GLP long enough that I think they might be. How many coincidences are truly coincidences? |

Relax their standards down to those of ALL THE REST OF THE COUNTRY, which aren't bad at all. Simple fix, wonder what the hold up is? Who does your thinking? |

There are products like Stabil that can be added, if you want to hold it for longer. Or you can pour the gas into your tank and then refill the can every month. That way you always have fresh gas for an emergency. |
