THE US Defence Secretary has raised fears that Syria's revolt could escalate into a regional war after Turkey warned it will intensify attacks against the Assad regime if artillery fire on Turkish territory continues.

think about it like this...everytime turkey attacks its weaking the syrian forces thus helping the fsa overall. they are weaking the norther perimeter. if one of the shells coming from syria kills another civilian they will be able to destroy another syrian military base. its chess, not checkers. if turkey blitzes the international community will come to syrias aid (russia,iran, lebanon and maybe china if nato intervenes and attacks iran). everyday the fsa gets stronger with the little help of turkey while syria keeps taking some jabs and short hooks
