I've got some ideas.

We could tax the rich so the very poor don't have to live in refugee camp conditions. I know the police aren't real popular here but a couple of them would have been useful to that girl.

We can stop dehumanizing people because they are black or "ghetto" or poor or urban. They are the same species we are--and their "differences" are due to the material conditions of their lives and the attitude of the entire culture.

We can try to increase our own compassion. That would lead to my first two ideas--but spread in other ways too.

We can cry. A sixteen year old girl died and another is going to prison. "Laugh so we don't cry" is the refuge of the hopeless and helpless. it isn't like that yet, is it?

Someone should invent a tool that collects farts and then turns them into electricity. Some sort of generator. When you come home after a day of school/work you can relax, have dinner, watch TV etc and fart electricity. Fun for the whole family!

Urban life is harsh and overstimulating. Its unnatural life. Its OK if you can afford a large house or apartment, and work in a nicely kept building, but urban poor people are constantly stressed by noise and mold and auto exhaust and other environmental toxins. Children have hearing loss from pollution. Lack of impulse control can be a neurological condition just like hearing loss. Add the other effects of relative poverty--the expense of fresh vegetables compared to "dollar meals", lack of police response in some neighborhoods, lack of adequate medical/psychiatric care, inadequate education, and you've got generations of neuroligicall compromised emotionally traumatized stressed out hairtriggery people.

I feel better out in the country than I do in the city, don't you? I think we have cities full of people who can never relax. The poor ones can't ever escape. It messes them up. It would us up too if we had to live like that.

Tax the rich? No matter how much you give give some people, how many free handouts they get, they will still be the scum of the earth. It's not the fault of the rich that some people are low lifes. It's just the way they are.

Children and idiots think the way you do. No concept of the way the real world works. Unfortunately idiots outnumber the thinking people now.
