Re: BREAKING: MSM Reports - Syrian Army Attacking Village on Turkey's Border - Blows up Major Oil Pipeline on Euphrates
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the existing world order is not sustainable, saying that it should be overhauled in the interest of justice, peace and prosperity.

At a Thursday meeting with Finnish Ambassador to Tehran Harri Kamarainen, Ahmadinejad pointed out that as a result of the complicated developments in the contemporary world, all nations are under the pressure of policies in which they have no role.

“The existing global conditions are neither sustainable nor acceptable. It should immediately transform into a just and humane order whereby all humans feel secure and peaceful and everyone is entitled to peace, security and progress,” he added.

Wrong, Russia has a prepared army, who can invade any foreign country like Turkey size with no major problems. The question it's not if they can, but when they will do it.

You misunderstand me. I said something about the capability of Russian Army. Personally, I was three times in Turkey and I have friends there, I know the Turks spirit and the love for your country, but... this is not enough to win a war. About the part when Romania become a state it's a little odd that you ask, the answer is in 1859, modern Romania has become a state and yes, we have more than 400 years ruled under Ottoman rule. By the way, the father of my grandfather, Romanian, was Janissary in the Sultan's Army, so I know what I'm speaking, bro.

I understand the feelings of common Turks. ANd glad that Romania is a Cyrillic lover...(because Romania is a Roman nation in classification schemes and dates back as population from the ROman empire when it was around, even before RUssia)...Anyway.

Should Russia finally decided to attack Turkey, It will not be the wars of 19th century, not even WW1. I don't know exactly what weapons Russia has that are non-nuclear but protected by EM shields or so. Generally not told the public about that. But they do exist on both sides. E-bomb is the only thing said in public, besides HAARP. SURA is the same in Russia. SO probably Russia can win over Turkey. But at what price? Immediate NATO retaliation? Don't think so. The world will enter into a nuclear standoff. And I bet Russia will strike first, for reasons I cannot list here. It also matters if the 100 megaton threshold will be reached gradually for a nuclear winter all over the planet. Then pray you are inside those shelters.

Syria insurgents damage historical mosque in Aleppo

Insurgents in Syria have damaged the Grand Umayyad Mosque in the northern city of Aleppo as the unrest in Syria takes a heavy toll on the historical heritage there, Press TV reports.

Armed groups targeted the mosque with mortars and machine-guns, damaging parts around the main gate as well as the prayer hall.

The incident occurred as the insurgents were trying to take control of the Islamic site.

The attack was, however, repelled by the Syrian Army and several insurgents were killed and more injured during the clashes.

The mosque is currently under the control of the government forces, officials said.

The Grand Umayyad Mosque is the largest and oldest mosque of Aleppo and listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

Russian army did Caucasus 2012 strategic drill in the Black Sea area and currently is doing air defense drill with Kazakhstan against cruise missiles. Since Russia is doing some kind of drill every 3 months or so, one cannot make big conclusions from that, rather than Russia is ready at every moment for action. The ships are moving constantly in the North, I lost their tracks. Perhaps the subs are everywhere under the ice. So the problem is not the technical side, but the political. At what circumstance or red line RUssia will play its cards, and how exactly. Will it need an accident as big as 9/11 to make a surprise nuclear attack (the only winning option imho), or something else is in store. May be space weapons. If they save lives, good. And where is America with its own space weapons, the leaked one TR-3B. Couldn't they just ...turn the page for humanity and give us new nano tech, jobs, free energy, plus freedom that will leave WW3 plans in the history? Why can't they agree on that, if BOTH and ALL sides have it already? We will know soon or after 20 years when we will judge this period of history.

Pro-government cameraman shot dead in eastern Syria

A cameraman working for pro-government television station al-Ikhbariya was shot dead in a city in eastern Syria on Wednesday while covering the ongoing civil war, making him the 25th journalist to be killed in the country so far this year.

Cameraman Mohammad al-Ashram was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the eastern city of Deir Ezzor while covering the conflict, according to al-Ikhbariya TV director Imad Sara. The state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) described the attackers as “terrorists”, a term the government also uses to refer to rebels fighting to overthrow the government of President al-Assad.

Cool down man. Nobody's gonna make war against Turkey. And Syria is not a threat.
You are just now ruled and forced to chip in a war with your close neighbour, with whome you were friends and relatives. Against the will of your people. It's a pain, but you'll see how mean you're gonna be stabed in the back.

Syria's Islamist rebels join forces against Assad

Powerful Syrian Islamist brigades, frustrated at the growing divisions among rebels, have joined forces in what they say is a "liberation front" to topple President Bashar al-Assad.

Mistrust and miscommunication have been a feature of the rebel campaign against Assad. Differences over leadership, tactics and sources of funding have widened the rifts between largely autonomous brigades scattered across Syria.

After more than a month of secret meetings, leaders of Islamist brigades - including the Farooq Brigade that operates mainly in Homs province and the heavyweight Sukour al-Sham brigade of Idlib - formed the "Front to Liberate Syria".

The agreement is not the first which seeks to bring together disparate fighting groups and its Islamist emphasis has already alienated some other fighters.

The growing role of the Islamist fighters and their battlefield prowess has also caused concern among Western powers as they weigh up how best to support the opposition forces arrayed against Assad.

Russia says it will not renew arms agreement with U.S.

Russia will not renew a decades-old agreement with Washington on dismantling nuclear and chemical weapons when it expires next year, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov was quoted as saying on Wednesday.

The death of the 1991 agreement, which had been renewed twice, is the latest in a series of hitches in relations between the United States and Russia and casts doubt on the future of the much-vaunted “reset” in relations between the Cold War-era foes.

Bomb explosion hits security area of Damascus-activists

A large bomb exploded in an area housing security and army compounds west of Umayyad Square in central Damascus on Thursday, opposition activists said.

Islamist groups Ahfad al-Rasoul and Ansar al-Islam said in a joint statement they planted bombs in a compound belonging to State Security in the area.

Syrian state television said a "terrorist explosion" had injured two people. Witnesses said soldiers in full combat gear were deployed in the area and all roads leading to Umayyad Square were cut.

Ansar al-Islam claimed responsibility for a bomb attack last month on the army's Chief of Staff headquarters in Umayyad Square, which started a large fire in the building.
