Loud banging/explosions heard in Northern Frisco, Tx . . possibly all the way to Celina.
This morning, October 23, 2012 around 12:30am a loud distinct noise was heard in Northern Frisco along Main St, and possibly as far north as Celina. It sounded like we were at war, like a gun fight, but the sound shook my windows. Right after the sound both my father and I woke and went outside to hear what sounded like horses going nuts in the distance. The sound seemed to have startled an entire neighborhood of people, but the police didn't hear it. Several people called the police at which time they were told over a dozen calls had come in to report shots fired in their area; given the wide-spread of people who posted on FB about this (at approximately the same time) there is no way it could have been gun shots. Does anyone here have any idea what this may have been? I have searched, and researched but I can find nothing on the subject!

My brother and his family live in Frisco...I hope everything's okay there! Gonna ask him if he heard anything...

I live in frisco. Just north of main street. I heard it as well, it was certainly gun fire. I estimate thirty or so shots. Scared the shit out of me

I heard it too, as he said it was mainly isolated to a neighborhood off of main st and they were gun shots, it seemed like there was 4-5 rounds the first time with a slight pause for a second or two then about 2-3 more. When I called in to the police there was already about 20+ calls from my neighborhood, I called in about 60 seconds after the shots. I live on Woodstream dr. The winds were pretty strong last night blowing north and I was only about 12 inches from my window when I heard it.

I live right off of main street as well, but the fact that so many people up north heard this too. It must have been right in my neighborhood because my windows were shaking. I would love to know what it was!

Havent heard anything since our 3.4 EQ a few weeks back. May have heard a little explosion couple days ago though but who knows. May have been BF3 explosions

I heard it too. I'm right at Rolling Brook and Stonebrook in Oakbrook Park subdivision. It sounded shots fired from a fairly large caliber pistol. Definitely wasn't a 9mm and they were in bursts of 3-4 shots about a second apart...not rapid-fire . The sound started out coming from what sounded directly west of here and moved north...slowly though, as if someone was on foot taking potshots at random stuff. It started around 12:15 and after I called the popo's it continued until probably 12:45 but became less and less frequent quieter as it moved north to the point where I think it might have traveled half a mile or so.
