Sporadic-E propagation is caused by patches of intense ionization in the E-layer of the ionosphere
Tropo propagation is caused by temperature inversions in the troposphere, the region of the atmosphere closest to Earth where all weather takes place

hmm even more interesting
Sporadic E layer (Es layer) is a thin layer (usually less than 1 mile thick) with limited horizontal extent (tens of miles) in the E-region having enhanced electron density similar to that of the F-region and hence causes reflection at lower altitude of radio waves normally reflected by the F-region. One source of sporadic E is the ionized trail of a meteor. Sporadic E layers also have differing characteristics and causes depending on latitude:

And,through simple technology(relatively)can be artificially created/induced to help the propagation of Coms.

But,back to the point..this can give us good indications of the overall health of regions of our Atmospheres(as well as many other applications) - Thank you for pulling this out Ninz - You are a Star alongside Sol.

If the raw data was available, it would be possible to do some statistics on it, as well as try and decode it assuming it might contain data of some/any kind.

Re: frequency of human voice received on meteor live view ?
I have been looking at the site for over a year on and off. Never seen this activity before. Sounds like a radio station is broadcasting a harmonic. With Sunspot activity on the rise, propagation becomes a real issue in radio science. So this could be a station anywhere on Earth, who's transmision is causing a harmonic, or echoe on other frequencies, to bounce or "skip" (propagate). Just a theory. This said , I'm keepin an eye on this.
p.s. Thanks for the audio link!
edit: deleted missinfo on my part. Nevermind<said like the "Church lady" from "Saturday night live."

"Hope this helps you guys with the meteor scan frequency... We went through this a little over a month ago and this was the response from N.L.O.

I got an email back guys!

We've been observing the N.L.O. Live Meteor Detection where something has been coming in for almost two hours now...

Has something like this happened before?

We're also listening in at Spaceweatherradio.com and it is being detected there as well.

Any information would be greatly appreciated - thank you.

"This is the direct signal received from the over-the-horizon radar we use, caused by a natural phenomenon known as tropospheric propagation [link to en.wikipedia.org] This occurs on our system on average about 3 or 4 times a year and typically lasts 1 – 2 days on each occasion. It is an indication of radio “lift” conditions in western Europe."

Great work! ;D

Their response sounds convincing enough for me; makes sense as far as I can tell.

if it's only supposed to last 1 - 2 days shouldn't it have stopped by now ?
