Google SUCKS, here is why and how to use Google without sucking (data).
Startpage, and its sister search engine Ixquick, are the only third-party certified search engines in the world that do not record your IP address or track your searches.
Your privacy is under attack!

Every time you use a regular search engine, your search data is recorded. Major search engines capture your IP address and use tracking cookies to make a record of your search terms, the time of your visit, and the links you choose - then they store that information in a giant database.

Those searches reveal a shocking amount of personal information about you, such as your interests, family circumstances, political leanings, medical conditions, and more. This information is modern-day gold for marketers, government officials, black-hat hackers and criminals - all of whom would love to get their hands on your private search data

Google just jumped on the bandwagon created by FB.

Before that Google "was" more secure/neutral, but since 2011 it's a gigantic personal information machine.

But Windows does the same, tbh.

With hundreds of millions of people using their services does it really matter what they know about you? Even if they used a random number generator to start attacking random people it's very unlikely anything will happen.

things just take a lil more looking, but really its good they arent like google because every site owner (everyone with a site does this anyway)knows how to drop words for SEO so their site gets listed at the top.

Some sites pay their memebers to use certain words or key phrases so the site comes up top in a goggle search, but fact it, whats actually on that site may have very little to do with the words searched for.

And why should I care if some company tracks my searches?

In the words of Scott McNealy: "You have zero privacy anyway. Get over it".

I've been thinking for a few years that GLP is actually just an arm of Google - the ads are for sure and the value of the data harvesting, tracking, seeing how people really feel, etc. They kinda just own everything. Same with Facebook and Google - same owners at the top, setting up the left and right as they do, controlling and perpetuating each side, creating the illusion of competition. Call me a paranoid conspiracy theorist.

It's like the debate between Obama and Romney, just a show for the plebes, keep them distracted and harvest the money off their clicks and eyeballs, massaging policy, creating the illusion of free press and democracy.
