Would be fun if election ends with an indefinite tie, and joint presidency.

The final Politico/George Washington University presidential poll is out this morning, and and it shows President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney in a dead heat going into the last day of the 2012 campaign.

The poll, conducted Sunday and Monday, found the candidates tied at 47% nationally, mirroring similar results from other national polls taken in the final days of the campaign. Each candidate is liked by exactly 50% of the electorate, with 48% expressing dislike for Romney and 47% disliking Obama.

Like other polls, the final Politico/GWU survey shows Obama pulling ahead of Romney, 49% to 43%, in 10 battleground states, giving the incumbent the edge in the electoral college map.

But the poll also has good news for Romney. On the eve of Election Day, the Republican candidate holds a big, six-point advantage over Obama on the question of which candidate is better for the economy and job creation. Romney is also up by 15 points among independent voters, an advantage Republicans believe can help carry him to victory on Tuesday, particularly in the key swing state of Ohio.

polls are worthless you could run a hundred different polls in the same day and get a totally different outcome every time...

i just see that there are many people voting, even in places where this is not usual... so what do you think this behaviour will benefict? Obama?

So were Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan but we all know how that turned out.

The media wants viewers/listeners. They are going to play this out be close but frankly Obama has all the odds stacked against him. When he's "tied" in polls that sample Democrats based on 2008 turn outs, he is in BIG trouble. When he's losing double digits consistantly, he's got a BIG problem.

Overall the national polls mean SQUAT ... since the US President is actually elected by the Electoral College Electors and for most states their "Electors" are ALL committed to voting for the person who WON that particular state. (all or nothing rule)

The ONLY polls that mean anything about who will become the next US President are the polls for the individual states that are the SWING STATES (ie: could put the candidates over the top in the Electoral College voting).

California, the biggest state in the US is already going for Obama so any poll numbers from there are IRRELEVANT.

Ditto NY, Texas, and most of the rest of the country wrt their poll number relevancy.

Florida, Virgina, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, and even little New Hampshire (and "maybe" Pennsylvania) is where the race will be decided. Everybody else is just along for the ride.

Luis, this is remarkable. They must not have ever read the stuff Obama has written about like his need to correct the "injustices of colonization" and how he thinks his father was tortured by the British in heinous ways.

Obama hates Europeans and even gave insult gifts to Queen E and others. DVDs of his own speeches and things like that. Had Churchill bust removed from where it has been for decades and taken out of WH.

He certainly does not return the favor.
