I don't like to kill animals unless its for food, but I had to kill a neighbor’s pit bull. He got a mean one from the shelter and when my boys had to walk by their house on their way home from school, the animal would savagely attack the chain link fence and try to dig a hole under the fence. It wanted to kill the boys. I talked to the neighbor about it and all I got was a "mind your own business."

When the dog had the hole dug halfway under the fence and the owner refused to cover it up, I decided to kill it. I grounded up some gopher poison (2% strychnine), mixed it with some hamburger and tossed it over the fence in a corner late at night. Problem solved, dog died next day and he didn't replace it. Strange, the neighbor didn't speak to me anymore,but that didn't bother me too much.

damn idiots. I just met some pit bulls last night and they were friendly as labradors, wagging their tails because they were happy to meet me and they didn't even know me! all this talk about killing pit bulls, what's the best way to kill a pit bull, or what's your favorite way to kill a pit bull, yakity yak, just shows me how stupid and evil the humanoid monkeys are. if I had a gun it would be 100 times more for worrying about getting attacked by these whacked out monkeys that call themselves humans, than worrying about a fucking dog.

Listen you dumb fuck, no one is talking about killing dogs for fun ,I love animals, but these dogs can snap at any time and go berserk, even if they're the friendliest of dogs, one bad day and it can kill anyone. So all the hypothetical scenarios being discussed here are regarding the possibility of some fucking asshole bull owner losing control of his dog and having the situation where you have the freaking beast running to you with intentions to rip you to pieces. And if that day were to come I am going to hate having to slash the dog's throat with my automatic fox karambit tactical knife because I love animals and I don't like killing anything. But then I am going to certainly beat the shit out of the owner for being an asshole.

As some people said, it is pretty much always that pitbull and such dog's owners are dumb trash who think it's cool to have aggressive dogs to intimidate people. Of course those people NEVER train those dogs well and they become a danger to society. The dogs should be banned for public use, but of course you dumb shits are going to insist the dogs are great for the family , until one snaps and rips your chil'd neck apart.

I am an animal lover, and this thread breaks my heart. Pitbulls for the most part have been a malaligned breed, wrongfully so. But it's stories like this that make me step back.

First and foremost, the owner of the pitbulls did NOT train his dogs properly, and thus is the one at fault.

Second, the owners of the horse have 15 horse on two acres? that is way too many horses on a small piece of land. Aside from that, if you manage properly, it's not a problem.

The problem I am seeing, is that this horse did not have ample room to protect himself. A horse will stomp a dog in a heart-beat - if it is able to. This story is telling me the horse was too confined to be able to protect itself.

I am sure the owners of the horse were doing the best they could with what they have.

BUT....the fault ALWAYS comes down to the humans and their management.....of both predator, and prey.

WE are supposed to care for our animals....and in this case, clearly mankind failed.....

I have horses....and I have dogs. And I have fostered dogs and am involved in the rescuing of the much maligned pitbull breed.

It comes down to humanity, and its management of our fellow creatures.

What a sad, sad story........

In Pasadena a few years ago a Pomeranian was found eating a human baby it killed. The baby was left with his uncle, who owned the dog and left them alone. It was a small article buried in the LA Times. But if a PIT so much as nips at someone, it's front page news.

My business saw 450 to 600 dogs a month. In an enclosed 1,100 sq ft space and the ONLY breed we NEVER had a problem with (actually, only ONE dog fight in 10 years) was Pits and Staffy's. Even had one that would come in and nurture the dogs that were scared. He was A HUGE Blue Pit.

You've got to fix and train them. If you don't, you're responsible for their behavior. That was in Cal. Here in Arizona by Phoenix people WILL NOT fix their dogs or TRAIN THEM for some insane reason. I'm a Boxer person and i've used trainers for every dog I've owned. From bird dogs to German Shepards to four different boxers. My white Boxer, Buddy, gets mistaken for a pit because of his muscular body and color. He's trained and doesn't have it in him to hurt anyone anyway.

Sucks for the horse, it's owner, and the idiots that had untrained dogs of ANY breed and are fully responsible for their animals actions.

Good for you! Seriously, it was just a matter of time before this dog attacked your kids.

Your neighbor should thank you, because if the pits killed one of your kids, I am sure he would not be amongst the living. My thinking, anyways.

And I would order my 3 German Shepherds to kill you, and your family. Think about it, I would be feeding my German Shepherds like any noble owner, and I would be exterminating some rotten genes.

To all of you calling pit bulls useless beasts are uneducated an ignorant. I have two pit bulls that have been exposed to and are friendly with not only kids other dogs and small animals but HORSES as well! My oldest is 4 and has never been aggressive. Complete strangers can walk up to my dogs and stick their hands in their mouths and my dogs will kiss them. Watch a documentary. Look up the studies and stop going by what you see on the news. Weimaraners, German shepherds and golden retrievers have attacked and killed people. Golden retrievers bite more people a year than any other breed. You just don't hear about that on the news. Get educated any ignorant jackass pulled a knife on my dog soley because of the breed ill get to you before my dog will. Read a book hillbillies.

No dimwit, there's plenty of dog breeds which aren't as strong and dangerous, and definitely don't tend to snap as badly as certain others.

It has very little to do with the dog breed. ANY dog can be a menace either through training, neglect or a combination of both. Some of the nicest dogs I've ever been around were Rotties, Pit Bulls, & Boxers. Some of the meanest dogs I've ever been around were the little ankle biter purse dogs and black labs...but again it had more to do with the owner then the breed of dog!

To quote bob saget "No one ever sucked cock for weed" and just like that, you never hear of anyone being mauled to death by a golden retriever.
