The WTC's steel supporting bands are what initially collapsed due to prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Once these supporters gave way, the steel bars they upheld broke free and the upper section of the building pancaked on top of the lower floors until the entire building fully collapsed.

The collapse of the buildings occurred because of poor designs which were originally meant to be more economical at the expense of safety.

So the conspiracy theory that suggests the USA government deliberately destroyed the WTC is false. In fact, most conspiracy theories fall into the category of being false.
