1. Civil unrest
2. Strong military presence on street to keep order.curfew etc..
2. Food shortages, more natural disasters
3. Difficulty to leave the country
4. Some sort of contagious disease
4. Secession.. breaking up of the union

In my opinion the writing is on the wall. It goes beyond politics I think.Its just like a pack of cards. Seems to be all coming down. This will I think ripple over to the whole continent as the US was the central motor. In my opinion a mess.
