Corporate welfare’s sole redeeming quality, to the extent it has any, is its relative size. Washington ladles out about $100 billion a year in handouts to the undeserving rich. That is a minute fraction of federal outlays for social welfare (Medicare alone will cost more than $670 billion this year). But it is still roughly $100 billion too much. [ link to reason.com] None of those links provided says anything about any TRILLION dollars going to corporations. I am not the person who claimed trillions. But I will provide this for you [ link to abcnews.go.com] 100 billion to the wealthy and 72 million to feed the poor. If you're cool with that... edit: 72 billion Yes, that seems like a very REAL figure. That is for one program, just food stamps. But I am tired of people trying to pretend the government spends MORE money on corporations so I'm just getting my fair share to justify a lifestyle of complete irresponsibility. Note no where do I say veterans, social security, and so forth. Those are things people paid or gave into. It's the 100% freebies I oppose. Why is it always the ones with the insane amounts of green karma that are the most ignorant and fast asleep people on this site? It's like some sick circle jerk of support and reconditioning the sheep give to each other. I don't get it.
