Women and multitasking debunked
Multitasking is one of the characteristic women are proud about.
I never could myself find any ground to such allegation.

And the other day I finally got it.
Ever notice that when women talk about something done they use at best "we" when it actually is "he" who done the work?
It could be as well "I" - meaning her - when again "he" had the work done.

So while "he" does the job and "her" is doing something else - like being on the phone - and since for women "he" is "we" they do consider having done several things at once.

Then yeah sure they are multitask. Only they're not.

Re: Women and multitasking debunked
When I return phone calls at the office, I am doing other things as well. I pull downloads that take awhile, while I am downstairs helping the mail room fix problems. I load 5 computers at a time when I load them. While they are loading I do other things and come back to load other applications, get them going and go back to whatever I was doing.

When I get to work, there is a line forming at my desk for help.

I have two computers on my desk so that while I am doing one thing on one, it doesn't hold me up, I can start work on the other one.

I am a multi-tasker and when I say we are doing this, I mean IT department, but really, it is just me.

what you reckon might be the case isn't sufficient to be considered "debunking". Sorry dude; it wouldn't even fly on Mythbusters.

Re: Women and multitasking debunked
LOL! This is actually a standard joke around our house but in reverse. My husband always says, "We need to.." but he means that I need to do it. "We need to rake the acorns from the front yard," "We need to get the car title from the Safety Deposit Box."

When we have projects to complete around the house, I do most of the work and then when it's almost complete, he'll lend a quick hand and then it becomes, "We tiled the basement," "We replaced the landscaping," "We cleaned the garage," "We scrubbed the carpet," "We cleaned the house."

After about 25 years of marriage I finally blew up and called him onto the carpet for it and he didn't even realize he was doing it. So now, about once a week, he slips and says, "We need to..." and we both crack up laughing. Nobody gets the joke.

Yes - the older I get, the more I realize this is true.

I used to shake my head at my two kids. My daughter would study - book open and reading. She would have her computer out and chat as she studied. It would take her all night to study.

My son would shut himself in a quiet room and study and then after an hour or two go out and have some fun with his friends.

Guess who had the better grades?

I mark on pages were I am so that when loading pc's I don't have to worry about keeping up with it. I also make time to triple check myself, but in such a way as to not cost too much time.

Re: Women and multitasking debunked
Just two weeks ago they completed a study in Sweden that shows men multi-task far better than women. As if we needed proof.

It doesn't matter though. When it comes to caring for babies women are the queens. That's what really matters. We men can handle everything else.

Not in my office.

I can't get the men to make basic decisions that are theirs to make, so I make them.

The problems people are lining up at my door for are not Windows related for the most part, but that decision isn't mine to make anyway.
