Channel 8 of the AMSU reveals the course of the Jet Stream and the long term weather . Take a look in the southern hemisphere and along the bottom of Australia and note the yellow narrow line in between the green general area ( north , towards the equator ) and red/white ( south , close to Antarctica ) , this line is representing the trajectory of the Jet Stream . Here you'll notice that most of Australia is north of the jet stream denoting a warm/hot and dry/drougtht summer . Opposite is the situation with New Zealand which is mostly south of the jet stream , closer to Antarctica air masses , hence facing a wet and cold summer . Note : the channell between Tasmenia and Australia is to be avoided due to ongoing predicted storms ( the Jet Stream goes right over it ) . For the same reason the NZ North Tip of the North Island will suffer mostly from storms . What is that white 'mass' ?? |
