Relatively speaking, we'd all be better off running our own blogs and subscribing to the feeds of people whose content we like. You know, a network rather than a centralized collection point.

Only problem is that a lot of people don't know how to run a blog of their own.

Or is that really a problem? Maybe more of a way to keep the truly stupid from clogging the 'net for people who actually have something worthwhile to say.

Esp. since the "election", most people on FB are only friended by people who already agree with them anyway, so it's not like FB is a good place to present alternative media to the sheep. It may be fine for arranging social events but it mostly just divides people.

BTW... I wish GLP included the user ID of those who give bad karma, if karma really means anything anyway.

You want systems to prevent the spread of disease, start promoting vitamins and supplements instead of drugs.

I use IXquick; there are quite a few others as well. Ironically, you can use google to search for them, and then google again to find out how to add them to your browser.

you're comparing a website which contains several measures of limiting audiences, both external and internal, with this forum which is publicly viewable by anyone at any time. it's also crawled and cached by google.

I deleted my FB account a few months ago. I did not use it that much and it was more aggravation than pleasure. Place is overrun with busybodies.
