My dog is part of the family. I don't ever recall having a Turkey part of the family. Let the president pardon his Thanksgiving meal and I will eat mine this year with gravy.

PETA Thanksgiving billboard asks kids: Would you eat your dog?

A billboard that will be placed outside Nevada public schools is sure to make for interesting Thanksgiving dinner conversation, that is, if kids let the turkey make it to the table.

PETA plans to place a billboard that reads, "KIDS: If you wouldn't eat your dog, why eat a turkey? Go vegan," with a picture of a dog head on a turkey body, near Reno public schools.

Similar ads will be run outside public schools in California, and were placed in Canada in September.

"Kids love animals, and if they thought about how turkeys feel pain and fear just as dogs and cats do, they want to switch out those drumsticks for Tofurky," Marta Homlberg, associate director of Youth Outreach Campaigns for peta2 said in a press release.

"This Thanksgiving, families can give turkeys something to be thankful for by choosing delicious vegan meals."

These idiots should understand that when we were a hunter gatherer society, it did not disturb the environment. Meat and hunting is the natural eco system and preservation of nature. Predators keep the other animals from getting diseased and overpopulated

Its when agriculture was introduced that the wildlife were chased from their natural habitat and roaming areas. Water was diverted from natural streams and rivers and chemicals were introduced to fertilize and keep bugs away from eating the crops. Agriculture drove humans to congregate and build and pollute the environment and sending chemical and fertilizer run off into our streams and eco systems and stripping the land of minerals and exhausting it.

The tremendous amount of fresh water it takes too, to grow a pound of veggies is enormous..

These idiots should look into how veggies and grains damage and strip the natural ecosystem of nature.

Its meat eating that is as close to nature as you can get. Its humans that introduced a artificial way of agriculture..

When I was a kid we had pet chickens and ducks and when we were tired of playing with them we'd kill and eat them...animals are for food, work, and entertainment, but they aren't people...however, if an animal has been to the vet and given antibiotics, vaccines or something I'd probably not want to eat it...

Cause we are 7 billion people today, yes, we do breed the animals now. I'm talking the whole scope of human history, thousands of years which your brain probaly cant comprehend such a timeline cause you cannot even write out a proper grammatical sentence with capitalization etc.

Meat protein is still a vital means of living and nourishment for many third world countries with critical fresh water supplies or lower rainfall.

It takes more water to water veggies than it takes to water a animal that can free range its food.

EDIT:

Look, it's a fallen world. That's just the way it is. It is not a sin to hunt. Nor is it a sin to raise animals in a humane fashion.

If PETA wants to really attack the problem, they should be attacking the corporations that practice factory farming. This should be a crime. But, no -- they are going to target children because that is easy.

When PETA takes on the factory farming machine, they will start to get some respect.

Ahem, stripping all the land and taking up all the fresh water and chasing the wildlife away from their habitat is not the answer either until the earth is restored to its pristine fertile condition. You do know that earth had already undergone a pole shift, right? that tilted the earth to a hostile seasonal position? Dinosaurs lived in a lush green earth where food grew everywhere. That was Eden.

You speak about God but know so little about the Bible, Havent you gone to church or Sunday School? I went to Theology school and Yahweh decreed the clean meat in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14.

'For I am Jehovah who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

'This is the law of the beasts and the birds and every living soul that moves in the waters, and of every living soul that creeps on the earth, to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, and between the animal that may be eaten and the animal that may not be eaten.' "
Leviticus 11:45 to 47

BIBLE VERSES NOT IN COPY RIGHT LAWS

These are the animals which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the mountain goat, the antelope, and the mountain sheep. And you may eat every animal with cloven hooves, having the hoof split into two parts, and that chews the cud, among the animals.

"Nevertheless, of those that chew the cud or have cloven hooves, you shall not eat, such as these: the camel, the hare, and the rock hyrax; for they chew the cud but do not have cloven hooves; they are unclean for you. Also the swine is unclean for you, because it has cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud; you shall not eat their flesh or touch their dead carcasses.

"These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat all that have fins and scales. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.

"All clean birds you may eat. But these you shall not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard, the red kite, the falcon, and the kite after their kinds; every raven after its kind; the ostrich, the short-eared owl, the seagull, and the hawk after their kinds; the little owl, the screech owl, the white owl, the jackdaw, the carrion vulture, the fisher owl, the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe and the bat.

"Also every swarming thing that flies is unclean for you; they shall not be eaten.

"You may eat all clean birds.

"You shall not eat anything that dies of itself; you may give it to the alien who is within your gates, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother's milk.(1)

New sign: "Kids, your dog eats meat, and so should you."

dogs do not have to eat meat, actually we now know that most of their health problems(and ours) comes from consumption of dead animals

That's why ranchers shoot wolves -- because they compete for grazing land?

Predators eat prey.

Please, dont try to reason with veggie tards with low IQ, they will kill their pets if they try and feed it broccoli and squash. It was in the news too, veggie tards tried to deprive cats and dogs of food that contained any meat product and the pets died.

I'm a member of the real PETA -

People Eating Tasty Animals

As for eating dog, why would anyone eat their hunting companion?

Let's see a turkey retrieve a ball and then we'll talk about taking them off the edible list.

Re: WOULD YOU EAT YOUR DOG? PETA'S NEW BILLBOARD.......
PETA's right. I made that connection when I was a kid and went completely vegetarian when I got out from parental control on my food intake.

Nothing the matter with educating the kids imo.
 Quoting: telling it straight

My kids know all about PETA and the American humane society.

When they show those poor animals, I tell my kids that they kill them, they don't help them. It's all for money.

My kids hate them for it.

Educate your kids so they are prepared.
