In recent years Toshiba has become a less reliable brand than it was before. Satellite nad Satellite Pro ranges have severrly dropped as far as reliability and build quality is concerned. Older models cannot be compared to todays counterparts as far as build quality is concerned. Some of Toshiba Satellite and Satellite Pro range have been recalled recently because of flaws regarding batteries and other issues. Satellite L models have had problems with motherboards a few years back and so on... I've even worked with quite a few broken Qosmios as well. Porteges and Tecras are still standing firm. I'd say they are the most reliable Toshiba ranges of laptops.
