The term, "Lucifer", used in Isaiah 14... along with all the other imagery in that chapter... describes the fall of the [human] King of Babylon as it tells the reader in the first verse of Isaiah 14. . |

You weigh Arch Angel against Arch Angel, but God is the deciding factor in the tale you are drawing from. As for the rank of Arch Angel being higher than that of the Cherubs... You have no understanding of the tale you're talking about. Cherubim are second only to Seraphim. Satan is a Cherubim? LoL No, the Cherubim guard the tree of life and the throne of God. They do not have free will, they were not made for such things. You have to remember, only Angels and Humans have free will, the other spirits were created with specific tasks in mind. Michael and Satan are both Arch Angels, they are both the second lowest of the angelic forms. You are adding things in which are not there, I can only guess you are speaking from a Catholic point of view... As St. Thomas Aquinas imagined Satan as a fallen Cherub. (apparently, even the saints avoided reading the book) Michael is more powerful, only because he serves God's will, which trumps both of those characters. |

The line is drawn to separate Darkness from Light. Who is the more powerful is who has God on their side. For none can overcome or defeat God. If God moved a herd of wild bore they would rampage through what ever their sights were put on to. No one would stop them until all wars gored and shredded to pieces. Whether weather or beast or man or angel God is a Power none can reckon with when it is against them.....Wrath is reserved for them or devouring them already. Everything that exists is or is not and God determines what is or is not. Given Grace or given Wrath. |

Continue to believe in fairy tales if you like... but the word, "satan", means "adversay"... that is ALL it means. There is NO Archangel called. "Satan." Jesus once called Peter, "satan", because Peter was trying to oppose God's Divine Will. READ the Bible... ALL of it and you will see the Bible speaks of two main adversaries... Babylon and Edom... they are Israel's adversaries in Old Testament history and in prophecy. When ancient Babylon destroyed Jerusalem Edom destroyed the temple and occupied God's Holy Land after Israel was removed and taken into captivity. Edom is now called "jews" who [again] maliciously occupy God's Holy Land under false pretenses. Babylon is the prophetic name of the end time evil empire whose destruction ushers in the Kingdom of God on earth. . |

Quoting: Atossa 18850150 The word, "satan", means adversary... that is all it means... there is NO archangel called, "Satan." . No, but if you read in Isaiah, God refers to Lucifer as the "Cherubim which covereth", and also as "the sum of all wisdom" The [as a] "cherubim which covereth" is found in Ezekiel (28:14), and it refers to a man, the king of Tyre to be precise. The mistranslation lucifer however is found in Isaiah (14:12), which refers to another man, king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Both verses are taken out of context then patched together to form an unscriptural lucifer/satan mythos. |
