Some of which voted for Obama. When I told them it is a direct result of Obamacare one of them said it "was Romney who started this shit". Obama signed this into law. It sucks, but that is the reality of our situation. ALL of our insurance rates are going up. Mine is jumping 12% next year. Quality of care will drop as well. Wait and see. This is what the country voted for.

Yes. My policy actually took a big jump last year and another smaller jump this year - all in preparation for Obamacare. But that's still nothing considering the thousands we'll have to pay in back taxes if we jump off the fiscal cliff in January.

I have a family plan. As if things weren't tight already. They are getting 'creative' with the plans as well. The premium increase is the first kicker. Companies are revamping health plans that make it damn near unaffordable to cover a family on. As a family guy it is getting harder and harder to cover my bases these days...

everyone is

it's out of control

I pay $2,583 a month for 3 people on an excellent indemnity policy with no copay...

That same policy started out at about oh $1,200 a month 5 or 6 years ago...

There have been no claims on it...

They are just fucking jacking us...

And get this, a friend of mine was dating an attorney for one of the big health insurance companies and she told him that it was now standard practice for the insurance companies to initially deny a claim that they would normally pay, thus resulting in the doctor billing you, until you bitch to the insurance company with them saying "my bad we will pay"!

Some consumers just pay the doctor without bitching to the insurance company thus resulting in them saving money... WTF

This year I had a decent plan with my company where all I had to pay was the copay and the deductible only applied if I went to the hospital for something serious. Due to Obamacare, I will now pay a higher deductible and they got rid of the copay plan.

It's absolute bullshit....My company started a health awareness program which was intended to lower insurance costs. As of Aug 1st we now have to pay for part of our individual plan and after Jan 1st, rate increases.

So, where is the savings? It's designed to fail so big government can take it totally over. Watch this not only destroy health care but the country too!

The one question that never was asked or brought to light,
why did Obama decide health care was a bigger priority over the economy, sky rocketing deficits and balancing the budget?

Everyone calls this "free health care", wtf is free about it? I pay into SS, Medicaid & Medicare to the tune of $100's
a week, $127 a week for health care and than income taxes. Before I get my check, over $600 disappears. And lets not forget the 401k BS they passed that employers have to deduct...more money they can steal from us later.

It's to the point it's not worth it to work anymore!

Ours have gone to over $800/month for my husband and me. He hasn't been to the Dr in years and I only go for annual physical or if I am really, really sick. This is with a $1000 deductible. Unreal. Additionally, the premiums for our liability coverage on our buses went up 14 percent this year after going up 24 percent (state limit) last year. We have never had a claim. My agent apologized and said "it's just because they can". Insurance costs are killing us.

Same here.. 12%.

I pay $32 a pay period. My Employer picks up $450 per pay. My premium did go up, about 12% which is consistant w/ the last 10 years.

Obamacare hasn't even gone into effect. Its the fat obese people that are raising our rates. We are rated.

My health insurance rate was slated to go up over 40% last July, which would have been the final straw for me because I cannot afford to have any more money coming out of my check. Fortunately I work for a company that actually cares about its employees and the owner switched us to a high deductible plan, but he is paying the first two-thirds of the deductible. This was all in anticipation of Obamacare. It is crazy...

family of 5 with no major illnesses jumped to $23000.00 per yr!!! had to find new ins which doesn't pay unless major illness/injury for $12000.00 per yr.!!!!!!! guess we'll be making payments if anything happens---at least most places will let you make payments with little or no interest added.
Our new ins is set to rise by approx %10 next yr. great.

Well it is a direct preemptive result caused by obamacare. Reasoning is because obamacare will forbid ins companies to use pre existing conditions as a means to deny insurance applicants. So to prepare for the influx of extra costs they just raise the premiums.

Healthcare is a huge issue, and in trying to fix it, it's still lopsided.

Who we should be very angry with are the government...including Obama and EVERYONE else because the insurance companies are not regulated enough. In some aspects there are no regulations and they can do what they want.

Case in point are the methods they use in clearing houses who supply fee schedules which are not regulated....and they swing widely. These schedules are used to determine usual and customary fees. The two ins companies who are known to use the most pricy fee schedule companies are BCBS and State Farm.

What does that mean to you? You have to pay more on your end by being with that ins company then another who chooses a lower fee scheduler.

There is not enough regulations, ins companies are fat cats and keep getting fatter.

Re: Several people I know are now complaining about their health insurance premium rate hikes!
I bought my first business in 1989 and I got quotes for insurance, lowest was $400 a month so I chose to go with Universal Insurance. Universal will give cover for all possible incidents for free ..... except you must live within Universal Law which means to follow your instincts and honour the Great Spirit, yourself and all others. I was a window cleaner for many years doing some hi rise buildings but mostly shop fronts and domestic houses. I had many good contracts and if I was asked do I have Insurance I would never lie so I would say 'everyone has insurance' or 'You can't work without insurance", if they asked who was I with I told them Universal and never had any complaints.
I also lived in the USA New Mexico for a few years and I used Universal cover for my truck and it was good with no cost.
I watched how to drive on the wrong side for a couple of weeks when I got there so I knew how to do it. It can be a bit scary when there is no traffic around and you think you are back home driving on the LHS.
Never once did I make a claim on Universal but I always was aware of what I was doing especially when up on a ledge of a 6 story building cleaning windows with a rope from my harness through the window so it appeared it was there to save me.
In the UK they have insurance for everything. I am thinking about insuring my bed sheets in case they get damaged from farting! Every driver here needs vehicle insurance for each different vehicle you drive. A motor dealer leant me a car (courtesy vehicle) but forget to tell me I had to have insurance so I got to give the queen £200 and was awarded 6 points for driving across England in a snow storm. I had to get insurance on that vehicle that I did not even own otherwise it was walk. It cost me £1500 all up, as much as the car was worth.

Agreed. The corporations are only reacting from their usual greed... But I go a step further, and say this: why the hell do we need health insurance in the first place -- a MIDDLE MAN? Healthcare costs are grossly inflated, precisely for that reason. Abolish the Corporate Economy, and then everyone will be able to afford healthcare -- and, they'll surely BE healthier. Because, then doctors and hospitals won't have the opportunity to ~exploit people; they make more profits off of ~sick people than healthy ones. Then, healthcare will become more PREVENTATIVE (as it should be), instead of first CREATING problems for them to supposedly 'fix' as they fill their pockets with our hard-earned cash. There's too much money involved in healthcare, way more than it's worth. We're getting no real VALUE for our investment. People are dying, check out the death statistics for the US.

Seems like 12% is the magic increase number across the board. Not sure why it is 12% specifically, but I do know that it will continue to rise the year after. We have been royally screwed. I feel squeezed from every angle by the government. It is insane. Fuck! I'm just trying to raise a family here. Clean living gets harder and harder to do every day in this country!
