Child 1 is forced by Obama to give child 2 more candy because child 2 has less than child 1..get it? The child that worked hard gets f'd over because the lazy child didn't want to put forth any effort. So when I said I agree 100%, that is a lie. It is bs, poorly ran governments can't claim wealth redistribution as the answer. Sick and cowardly administration we have. |

When that happens, it is the job of the government to protect the rights of the people. Most of this is handled through Contract Law, and since the Government is NOT supposed to get in bed with business in some Corporate Fascist way, then businesses can't lobby and leach from the Government or tax payers. The only thing that determines whether a business succeeds or fails is the public consumer in a free market society. |

It is bs, poorly ran governments can't claim wealth redistribution as the answer. Sick and cowardly administration we have. To play devil's advocate, it could be interpreted this way: Suppose one kid starts out with a huge dufflebag, the other has to scrounge around just to find a regular cloth sack. They both work hard on Halloween night, but the kid with the sack, ripping apart, can't hold as much candy, whereas the kid with the duffle bag can hit house after house with ease. Then, at the end of the night, the government says: "OK, you both went trick-or-treating, you both have to pay us X percent of your candy earnings." The kid with the duffle bag has so much candy, that paying a small percent barley puts a dent in it. The kid with the cloth sack has to give up most of his candy, and eventually gives up on trick-or-treating all together. The kid with the big duffle bag = Big Corporations The kid with the torn apart cloth sack = Small business ower. I'm not anti-corporation, just trying to give you an idea of a better analogy for the way government practice currently works. |

It is in his best interests to share it. |

This is going on the assumption that - If the government does a bad job we can fire them, and hire a new government, without having to have a violent revolution. im not sure if you know your country's history but that has not happened in 100 years and it aint gonna happen anytime soon. |

This is going on the assumption that - If the government does a bad job we can fire them, and hire a new government, without having to have a violent revolution. lol, op thinks his vote really counts No. I'm not suggesting that there is ANY way to fix the current government. Goldman Sachs and other corporations have already completely taken over it. As far as I am concerned, we do not actually have a government. Just a puppet show. This was more of a musing on an ideal government. And it just occurred to me that there has to be some limits on the size and power of corporations, and the only way to do that was with taxes. Because if a corporation gets too much money they are going to bribe, threaten, extort, and assassinate the government until the government starts doing things like BAILOUTS Which destroys the free market. So I'm saying... I love the free market so much, that I believe that corporations should be limited to preserve the integrity of the free market. I'm pretty sure that even most free market economists know that monopolies must be prevented. |
