Re: Pope denies second coming of Jesus in his weekly address
The Pope is referring to the passage in the context of the Apostles. The Apostles were asking Jesus about the future, and Jesus is basically saying to them -- don't worry about the future, I am your future and that is all you need to worry about. The Pope is explaining that Jesus is deflecting the Disciples curiosity by changing their focus so that they would not be worried, but instead to focus on Jesus as the "central figure" of their future.

The Pope is explaining the part in the scriptures that says "Son of man" explaining that Jesus was referring to himself as the "central figure" of the future, not just a "visionary" of the future.

The person quoting the one paragraph took it out of context which does not give a complete meaning of the Pope's intent.

Re: Pope denies second coming of Jesus in his weekly address
The 'Pope' is at it again!

So much blasphemy from the R.C. church only means one thing. The time is NEAR!

This is how the Pope explains two central Bible verses of the second coming of Jesus:

“Then the Son of Man will come upon the clouds in the sky with great power and glory” (13:26). The “Son of Man” is Jesus himself, who links the present with the future; the ancient words of the prophets have finally found a center in the person of the Messiah of Nazareth: he is the central event that, in the midst of the troubles of the world, remains the firm and stable point.

For this reason Jesus does not describe the end of the world and when he uses apocalyptic images he does not conduct himself like a “visionary.” On the contrary, he wants to take away the curiosity of his disciples in every age about dates and predictions and wishes instead to give them a key to a deep, essential reading, and above all to indicate the right path to take, today and tomorrow, to enter into eternal life. Everything passes – the Lord tells us – but God’s Word does not change, and before this Word each of us is responsible for his conduct. It is on this basis that we will be judged.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You ARE aware that ALL FORMS OF Protestantism is a "by-product" of the "Catholic Faith"...RIGHT? -It was a mere KING who changed the words of the bible because of a political fallout with the diocese. In other words, "the King James Bible" was literally revised by a filthy elitist. There were strict instructions to have never changed a single word. Not to mention the people who translated the bible from its original format...WHICH WAS IN CODE.

You ARE aware that the very bible that you read is a version, or a revised edition off of the "Roman Catholic Texts,"...RIGHT???

You ARE aware that it was Catholicism that set forth Jesus as "The Son Of God," and created the "trinity," in which ALL of you except the Jehovah's witnesses agree...RIGHT?

You ARE aware that "the passover," Easter, Christmas, etc...was all pushed into one religion by the Romans and coalesced into Christianity...RIGHT?

You must ALSO be aware that the act of "Communion," is primarily Roman Catholic, and reflects much of the former Roman pagan practice of "drinking blood." (i.e. Cannibalism, Vampirism) for the sake of "sacrifice" in exchange for power. --RIGHT???--
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its funny to me, because...even Christians are separated and AT WAR with one another. Catholics think that the Lutherans will burn in hell. The Lutherans think that the Pentacostals will burn. The Pentacostals think that the Methodists will burn. The Methodists are sure that the Baptists will burn...and the Baptists just LAUGH their butts off at "The Mormons."

So...Your faith IN GENERAL is in FAR MORE TROUBLE THAN YOU COULD BE AWARE.

I suggest that you quit worshiping your messenger, and start FOLLOWING THE MESSAGE. Although, I realize that its far easier to do the former, than to recreate your lives and actually LIVE THE LATTER. -LOVE EVERYONE UNCONDITIONALLY- Don't TALK about it and point fingers at one another...DO IT.

The Catholics weren't the only ones to write the bible. The Greeks did and I have the bible that is written in Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek and English. Did you forget that the disciples went to the Jews in Greece? Not Rome, just because they claim they were the first church doesn't make it so! At the time of the first followers of Yeshua or Jesus Christ, they were murdering them there. Peter did not set up the Rome Catholic Church! He was gone to the lord by that time.

The Messianic Jew would very much disagree that Rome Catholics were first.

Well the RCs are besides not being Christians at all, what is called amillenialist (a stand for anti, so they are anti millenium), they've been writing off the entire book of Revelation as allegorical.

It's just good he continually expose that they are not Christians.

Here is what the Catholic church teaches about the second coming from the catechism

You people are so silly

You have to remember that the apostles didn't know about Jesus second coming when they were asking him about the future. That's why Jesus had to re- focus their attention toward him and what is important. The Pope is trying to clarify that Jesus was speaking of himself and that is what " the son of man" is referring to in the scripture-- Jesus himself. The Pope is clarifying that Jesus is the "central figure" of the future, that he wasn't just giving a vision of the future, as a " visionary" but that Jesus is the CENTRAL FIGURE of "the coming"

I don't see how anyone can interpret it any other way when you take the whole text in context.

In another passage, Jesus says " I am with you always, even to the end of the age" so Jesus never really left us. He is coming, and is always coming and will indefinitely come, but at the same time, he is always with us. we are not waiting for him to come and "save us" again, because he already did that. Instead, we are waiting to greet him as the Bride, prepared to meet him face to face " because we will be like him." so we need to be ready and prepared to see him when he comes.

No, I don't let other peoples interpretation of art influence my decisions of what I think about things.I don't understand why Christians think that everything they see is satanic. It seems to me that they do not out their trust in Jesus when they view everything that does not agree with their way of thinking as " satanic" they live in fear of everything and every one.

Can you accept that of course Jesus is coming again, and no one knows when, as well as that Jesus is already with us? What is the problem here? People treat this second coming like Jesus was not already here, that's the problem. So accept the whole scripture will you? Besides after this I give up already repeating the same thing.

Beware of twisters!

He spoke out on the idea that the ancient Mayan calendar predicts that doomsday is next month, on December 21, 2012.

The Pope has reassured Catholics that the end of the world is not night – and has told them to ignore claims that December 21st will be doomsday.

He referred to extracts from the Bible that speak of ‘the sun and moon going out, the stars falling from the sky’.

We need artists like "The Smothers Brothers"
today...where are the Joanie Mitchells and the
Joan Baez's. Probably on PROZAC as things are
so bad....
Don't hate the Catholics. They are NOT your
enemy. You are poking at windmills, here.
Cheers!

They are really throwing Satan a party at that church, aren't they?

Um...scratching

How do I do this without offending the sensibilities of "the herd?"
