I think most people realize 2012 isn't the end of the world, the collapse of civilization, whatever.

The people I really want to verbally bitchslap are the ones going on about aliens coming down from space and 'new golden ages' and 'paradigm shifts' and all that hope porn.

I used to a big advocate for '2012 is the end of the world', the coming of a new awakening and what's not. I can tell you now that I simply brainwashed myself to believe this crazy nonsense. Thanks to this website and such I continued to allow myself to be brainwashed. Now of course I am not going to sit here and blame everyone for what has happened to me. It was my mistake, it was lack of discernment and naivety on my part. I am just glad that I was able to finally awake and realize that I spent too much time of my life on complete nonsense. Unfortunately I cannot bring the clock back so that I could change the outcome.

Obviously now that we are so close to the final countdown, you have to be completely insane to still believe dec 21 2012 will be the end of the world. I think some of these folks are still hoping for something to happen. They hope that Israel is going to attack Gaza and maybe the rest of Arabic countries will get involved which inevitably will cause WW3. People will believe anything just because they have nothing better to do in life. When you don't achieve anything in this life you look for alternatives. Someone people join gangs, others just commit suicide while others join religious sects, cults etc ... Everyone wants to find meaning to their life or else they feel like nothing really matters anymore.

I believe one of the primary reasons why religious people hate atheism, it is because atheism dispels their beliefs. They are fearful of atheists. You can be anything, as long as you believe in something but God forbid you do not believe in anything. It's like a crime. So they will try to convince you that your way of thinking is false. That no matter what science says their holy book had these answers already written 5000 years ago. I wonder how long such nonsense will exist. Thankfully I can see that there is no future to religion. That religion will die eventually. It will be of course horrific to think that in some 22nd century you have most of the world believing that God punished Jewish people for not believing in him. What a crazy world I live in ...
