I was at K-mart yesterday and overheard conversation between two employees that they couldn't use their debit cards for employee purchases. They had to use their sears card or a credit card. I do not think that this is right.

Why on earth would you go to K-Mart?

That has to be the worst store on the planet.

The last one I went in (12 years ago) had the filthiest floors I had seen outside of a restroom during a football game.

Maybe next time you should go somewhere more modern that "gets" it, because K-Mart clearly does not.

I'm still wondering why they have not shut all those crappy stores down yet.

I worked at Kohl's department store for a very short time and I think their rules were the same. If we wanted our employee discount, that is. Can't remember if it was just the store card we had to use or if there were other options in that. I know we were limited though. Craptastic job too.

You do what you have to do when you don't have many options! We have kmart or walmart. grumpy2 I hate both. There are some things that we just can't get a halfway decent price on at the grocery store and we have to go to one of those two hellholes.

Target bests this shit out of both Krap-Mart and Wally World.

Re: I was at K-mart yesterday and overheard that employees couldn't use their debit cards for employee purchases.
I worked at Kmart years ago and at that time they paid their employees in cash.

The reasoning was if employees were handed a handful of cash they were more likely to spend it in the store before they left.

That always bothered me. I guess i saw it as corporate greed.
