Just out of CURIOSITY..what DO YOU THINK the BIG MARS DISCOVERY is? | |
Borian User ID: 1139038 United States 11/24/2012 12:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My guess is some form of life, or signs thereof (e.g., methane). Won't be a surprise to most of us, but even microbial life would shake things up for a fair percentage of the world. Quoting: Ms.Magoo wow. Bacteria on Mars. I'm shaking so hard. I'm screaming hysterically. If there IS live out there, they are probably a bunch of predators, why can't you nerds understand that? They probably will regard you the same way humans regard pigs, or cattle, or sheep. you are nothing but tasty farm animals to them, they have no respect for your infantile emotions or your stupid thoughs, or the fact you can make dumb noises with your mouths. Worse would be a bunch of sentient bacteria that are pissed we found them. |

I think it's a given that life is abundant throughout the universe. So with that, it's totally possible, even probable that there would also be predatory lifeforms like those you described. My point was that while most of us here wouldn't be surprised at the idea of otherworldly life, even a finding of microbial life would seriously mess with a lot of others. How about those who think the Earth is like 2,000(or however many) years old and that dinosaur bones were planted by god as a test of faith? They'd have a conniption if life was found elsewhere. It's super-ignorant, but so are a lot of people (unfortunately). Looking at it like that, such an announcement would be "earth-shattering" on some scale. |

I think if NASA get hysterically excited and start talking about microbes being discovered, the sheeple will turn off. Not interesting enough for them, despite intelligent people understanding the ramifications for earth. But... If NASA come out with, yeah, we found intelligent alien life, and they are communicating with us, too many sheeple will turn conspiracy theorists and question it...and we know how crazy dem conspiracy theorists are! People don't believe we went to the moon...there will be a similar number questioning whether or not the Rover was actually there. But if it's all a big slow boiler lie that will reach the crescendo in 20 years when I'm an old man, I'll still question all I see, hear and experience. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12774950 Im starting to think NASA is dropping the ball on this. They said it would take weeks to know the results and then the information will be released. "I have come to the conclusion that all news should be treated like 9/11, assume it is a psyop with actors participating in a staged event complete with props, until proven otherwise, in which case assume whatever is being recorded, reported, televised, is distortions/lying by omission/outright lies, until proven otherwise." - Anonymous, 4-13-12 |

That would expand to general acceptance by the populace. Further people would soon realize, the Startrek non-interference is possibly Cosmic law. And then they would call out and ask ... No . Too risky they thinks. Hypothesis only. Or really a thought, that pokes. |

I saved it, opened it in photoshop, selected burn tool, midtones, 100%, and went on brushing the top portion, which's light. Some color blocks emerge in the central area, cant say what...
