[link to www.sunny.org] Just so you know, that's about 1 mile South of the broken sidewalk area. Additionally, the image shown on that webcam would normally include about another 50 feet of sand extending out - sand that is now underwater. You are totally clueless about the situation but hey, nice try. |

Everything is fine here. We had high high tides during the northeaster last week, but all back to normal now. I live here and have been watching the beach disappear all year .. we shall see .. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7125161 Me too but it's been disappearing rapidly in the last 2 weeks alone. It's happening all up and down the S. Florida coast, however, since we have some of the most narrow beaches in Fort Lauderdale, it's becoming more apparent here first.. Give it 2 more weeks and I'll bet you A1A is totally gone in that area and I'll bet you the stretch of beach om A1A south of Sunrise Blvd. has practically no sand left by mid December. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27889364 United States 11/28/2012 12:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I mentioned it as an addendum on an earlier comment, I'm going with sea floor rising (due to expanding magma/expanding earth theory) If you follow any of the buoy data reporting here and there, they have posted huge anomalies that most certainly have to be equipment malfunction, or is it? There is controversy about buoys going 'offline' as well, mostly in the south east (Jakarta) area. The rising seafloor would certainly lead to coastline submersion as a counter force This florida video feels even more disturbing than other areas experiencing same thing, maybe cause its our backyard. The sea floor anomalies were occuring around the same time as Sandy if I'm not mistaken, so that could account for the "how Sandy did this' question. Quoting: Isis One I'm glad you threw all this into the big picture because it is definetely part of the over all big picture. Things are getting very serious right now. I think anytime in December we are going to go through a big event. Everywhere. You cannot have all this going on at the same time and sit there and think thats everything is ok. Its far from ok. The whole East Coast has started to destabilize just like all the other places in the world. An Island just disappeared. The Indo Plate Snapped in half. Pakisatn has sunk 10 feet " Proven " People this is Serious. Move away from Danger and don't wait much longer. December is going to be a bad month all month long. Its not going towait till the 21st. Look around. Its already begun for some on this planet already. More FYI: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHC: Sea Levels Rising Fast on U.S. East Coast Not clear whether human-caused global warming is to blame, experts say. Published June 25, 2012 Sea level rise on the U.S. East Coast has accelerated much faster than in other parts of the world—roughly three to four times the global average, a new study says. Calling the heavily populated region a sea level rise hot spot, researchers warn that cities such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore could face a more flood-prone future. "New York Seas to Rise Twice as Much as Rest of U.S." For residents of New York and cities up and down the eastern seaboard, those numbers should become a lot more than ink on paper. "The first thing people will see from this is an increase over the next few decades in the low-level coastal flooding that occurs now with wintertime storms," Howd said. "Eventually you'll see coastal flooding events three to four times a year instead of once every three to four years." But it's not just cities that are expected to suffer. "The northeast coast of the U.S. is flat," said climate modeler Jianjun Yin at the University of Arizona, who did not participate in this research. "Even gradual sea level rise could cause rapid retreat of shoreline and significant loss of wetland habitats." ... Mysteries of East Coast Sea Level Rise It's still something of a mystery why the U.S. East Coast is bearing the brunt of sea level rise. ...Maybe, the researchers say, fresh water from Greenland's melting ice is disrupting North Atlantic currents, slowing the Gulf Stream and causing East Coast sea levels to rise. [link to news.nationalgeographic.com] uh not that much of a mystery ,hint,in which direction does the earth spin?now you know.model it you will see |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 968649 United States 11/28/2012 12:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | do we know for sure that it is just not natural beach erosion? I mean if the local gov dumps tons of sand there to create artificial tourist area beaches and a storm washes all the sand away, it makes sense that the water would be closer to the shore. I am very wary of people saying global warming! see! now fork over more money so we can fix the problem! How the hell do you fix the planet? That is so arrogant. IF there is global warming, we cannot know if it is natural or manmade. If you environmentalists really want to fix the problem, don't tie the fix to a carbon tax and endless government growth |

Trust me, it's NOT in the same condition. The concrete wall used to be a few foot dropoff onto the side where the sand is, now they've piled sand within inches of the top of the wall. Also, yes, the beach is MUCH shorter right now. The video and the webcam are not comparable because the beach itself is (naturally) twice as wide where the webcam is as compared to where the wall has collapsed. The beach itself, has decreased, EVERYWHERE. Trust me. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27889364 United States 11/28/2012 12:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wake up everybody. There are only a few things that can cause this. Well ok three and none are good. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20025513 First your sinking. Thats not a stretch as Pakistan has sunk 10 feet since this time last year as recorded and documented by Nasa's Earth watch Satelite. Second. The water is moving towards the poles. The poles attract water towards them and seeing how the poles have moved 40 degrees and are now in the Red Zone for a Pole Shift this could also be the cause of the water moving inland. Third. The ocean levels. I don't think this is the cause. Jakarta has had a tide roll in that won't recede right now and is getting inundated by water. Combodia and Veitnam Sinking along the coast. Same as other area's of the coast are experiencing this World Wide. Uk under water right now. I'm just going to throw this one out there. Is there somthing wrong with the MOON. Is this the Planetary Alignment of December 3rd....? Giza Pyramid Conjunction. Is this the instability all along the East Coast my Dad has been warning the people of Louisianna about in conjunction with the sinkhole. Get the hell off the Coast. Somthing is coming very soon. Its going to be bad when it happens. I think the Pole Shift is Near. Very Near. Is A1A built on a sandy foundation there? Then it would be possible that the storm created a path for the sea to start eroding that sand, and the whole stretch (just 4 blocks) has now collapsed far enough that it's going under water. More ambitiously, I have a fourth theory, well it's consistent with your third theory, but there's much more to it. There is much more water. Not that the ice is melting (if it's floating ice that would not affect water levels anyway) but there is new water. Expanding earth theory. More of all elements and compounds are made as the earth absorbs net solar energy and converts it to mass. But if the ocean depths stay about the same, you can work out that even as the volume of the earth expands, the surface area of land will decrease as the ocean area expands. all of south florida is an old reef covered in sand and most of it is drained swamp land barely above sea level, god is giving it back to the birds fish and gators.from lake okeechobee south was pretty much water til they drained it .look it up. |

The below statement seems almost exactly on par with what is happening right now: "The increasingly violent wobble will bring high tides to Florida, almost without warning and so erratic that predictions will be impossible. Then there are the Last Weeks, where the tides will rush north and south during the severe wobble, 200-300 feet high. Florida will not survive the severe wobble, clearly, as the entire state is under water at a 200 foot level. Florida will then be pulled down 150 feet during rotation stoppage, a permanent loss of elevation. And in the Aftertime Florida will be merely a memory, being well under 825 feet of water where it formerly was at sea level. Since survival in south Florida is not possible, what are you waiting for? Move!" |

The roads by the beaches are flooded and now they have to make A1A a one way street. Scary stuff. Quoting: Kittywitch [link to www.local10.com] I love this quote from this story: "I don't know what they are going to do about it, but it's gotten worse every day since Sandy," said Andrea Williams. I don't know who "they" is but I'm pretty sure "they" can do nothing if the ocean is swelling of the level is rising. People are fucking oblivious. why do you think the ocean is swelling? i would think the shore is sinking. esspecially with all the sink holes lately. there are now lots of empty spaces underground. they collapse and everything evens out. downwards |

Artlicious User ID: 16923663 United States 11/28/2012 01:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I remember reading about a giant bubble/bulge of water at the north pole, at the begining of the year. Perhaps it is slowly draining into the rest of the oceans? I actually think it's a combo of many factors, but this could be one of them? I found a link: [link to why.knovel.com] Maybe it's not enough to have the total effect, but it might be part of what's going on? _________________________________________________ "However, researchers conjecture that the effect could be increasing of late because the traditional solid ice floes of the Arctic have begun to melt away in places as the globe continues to warm. As ice becomes freer to move around, more energy is transferred to it and the water underneath, speeding up the rotation of the gyre and increasing the collection of fresh water. This collection of fresh water poses little danger in itself, but researchers are concerned about the potential implications if the situation changes. The gyre relies upon the prevailing winds, so any change in those currents could just as easily disperse the water that has collected." "In particular, researchers are concerned about the possibility of large amounts of fresh water from the gyre crossing the Arctic and exiting into the Northern Atlantic Ocean." Here is a good link to BBC describing the anomoly: [link to www.bbc.co.uk] Last Edited by Artlicious on 11/28/2012 01:23 PM |
