I agree with this.
Australia isn't doing that well either. we might be the last to go but its still slowly going down hill and gaining momentum. Works dying off in most fields and our taxes are ridicules!
The best advice i can give u is use this time to do what you love! dont worry about money or things.
If you dont know what it is figure it out.
The thing that brings you the most joy is usually your life purpose.
It is a blessing in disguise if your willing to take the steps necessary.
