Damien User ID: 25288470 United States 11/29/2012 05:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes I can. I don't "see" things, I just know things before they happen. I can't control it, but it's getting stronger and I'm getting more and more time between knowing something and when it happens. I've had it as long as I can remember and have no idea why. I used to hate it and fear it, now I trust it absolutely and when I "know" something I act on it if needed. I've proven it to people close to me, but I'm extremely careful not to talk about with anybody else. Don't know if that helps. Why are you asking? |

Damien User ID: 25288470 United States 11/29/2012 05:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't need condescension "dear". It isn't intuition when you couldn't possibly have any prior knowledge or logical reason to know something. Such as knowing somebody got in a car wreck before it happened, or who is calling on the phone before you answer even though you haven't spoken to them in months, etc. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 26356717 Finland 11/29/2012 05:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yep, quite often in fact. However, it's not always that obvious - the way the hints are give is such that it does leave lots of space for the events to manifest in many different ways. It's easier to catch big events effecting many people (for example I "saw" the Madrid train explosions about 12 hours before they took place), while smaller scale (such as personal level) events are way more uncertain. |

Damien User ID: 25288470 United States 11/29/2012 06:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Look up what intuition means, choose Jung or non-Jung, and then trust me when I tell you that's not what I'm talking about. Since you probably won't educate yourself, I'll post it for you. Intuition is regarded to be reaching a conclusion based on environmental clues not readily available to the conscious mind, such as micro-expressions, very low volume sounds, etc. What I'm talking about is knowing something when you aren't even thinking about it much less looking at it and it might even be something you have never even seen before. I'm done explaining to you. Try not stepping in people's posts and trying to disregard them when you don't know them and apparently even the subject being discussed. I'm not being mean, I just have little patience for people who respond like you did. |

Sure as shit he was on the roster. She just knew. |

Sure as shit he was on the roster. She just knew. What your grandmother experienced, without the physical manifestation, is exactly what I experience. It's a touchy subject for me, so I tend to get defensive quickly. I apologize for being snippy with you, I feel very strongly about the subject and I guess have gotten too defensive. If you have other experiences, and don't mind sharing, I for one would like to hear them. :) I will share one of mine as a peace offering. I got married to my high school sweetheart, and one day I just knew I would lose her when she turned 29. That was five years away. I told my best friend, he consoled me and I promptly forgot about. We eventually got a divorce, and that happened the year she turned 29. I didn't even remember, my friend actually brought it up almost a year later. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 28691353 United States 11/29/2012 06:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks for your kindness. In my family we say "we walk with a strong intuition" maybe that's where the confusion came in. What we call intuition you call something else. But to put it bluntly we just know. We know who's calling, we feel bad energy around us just waiting to occur. It's like always being one step ahead. Has nothing to do with our environment or subtle cues. We just know. It runs down the female line in our family. For instance my daughter knows what I'm thinking before I have spoken. In fact it's become so funny we make a game of it. My daughter can hear me yelling at her in my head, she will say "what mom". We call this loud thinking. We have many family stories I would bore you to death. You need to harness this ability. It's your best friend. Oh and by the way much love to ya! |

You are right, it has saved my bacon a time or two! As far as harnessing it or even developing it goes, I have no idea how. I once ignored it and tried to block it out for many years, and now I've finally given in the past year and tried to listen/pay attention, but I'm flailing around in the dark so to speak. I really have been hoping to meet somebody or become friends with somebody who has it, but in thirty years time have never met anyone outside of family who was willing to discuss it. Granted I dont bring it up in conversation, so it's not exactly ideal circumstances... If you tell somebody what's going to happen before it does, it usually gets you socially ostracized in my few experiences of talking about it. A shame. I don't know what I'm going to do next. You are lucky to have that kind of support among family and the acceptance of it. Cherish it! |

You are lucky to have that kind of support among family and the acceptance of it. Cherish it! ok NEVER speak of what you feel or see. Murphy's law it won't happen. What I mean by harness is practice it. Watch your thoughts or feelings come to fruition. Never ignore it, that makes you have a negative outcome. This is a gift, use it. But don't share it. This gift is for you and others alike. I do cherish my ability to communicate with my family about it, but never with those that don't understand. I communicate with you because you get it. So practice... When you have a feeling or insight go with it see what happens. But reverse the table ignore it and see what happens. The more you do this the more you harness it. With all my love. |
