1) his clothes are ratty

3) that portable heater means he probably cant afford normal heat

So I ask all of you, what did hard work do for this man? From what I can see, he is nothing more than a perfect slave.

And to answer your question about what did he get from working hard, well to start he has a house to put his family in that he got himself. He earned respect from those around him and those that know is story. In his hard work he has educated himself and most likely his family. He showed others around him that hard work does pay off and you can make something of yourself but if you do not try you will never know.

No you talked about him because of his office, space heater, and clothing. As you only see a small part of the office how do you know what is in there and is not in there? You don't. The space hater does not mean the house does not have heat. I use a space heater in rooms down stairs because those rooms do not hold heat well. has nothing to do with what i have and do not have, plus space heaters can lower you monthly bills. And the clothing he is wearing has nothing to do with the person waring them. And that shows your mind set for thinking that it does. Oh and you said something about his skin, who do you know what it is like? Did you reach through your screen and feel his face?

Those clothes are expensive, they get ratty from WORKING.

And some people no matter how much they make could care less about a big houses, the latest fashions and tons of stuff. I don't know about this guy but there are plenty out there who you would think haven't got two nickels to rub together who are loaded. Too many people gauge happiness on how a person looks rather than looking deeper and seeing if the person is really happy. I could care less if I had used furniture and used clothes. I can afford better but it doesn't really matter to me. Maybe it doesn't matter to this dude.
