Kryptos, the encrypted sculpture on the grounds of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Langley, Virginia
Kryptos is an encrypted sculpture by American artist Jim Sanborn located on the grounds of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Langley, Virginia. Since its dedication on November 3, 1990, there has been much speculation about the meaning of the encrypted messages it bears. Of the four messages, three have been solved, with the fourth remaining one of the most famous unsolved codes in the world. The sculpture continues to provide a diversion for cryptanalysts, both amateur and professional, who are attempting to decrypt the final section.

Solution 1

Keywords: Kryptos, Palimpsest

BETWEEN SUBTLE SHADING AND THE ABSENCE OF LIGHT LIES THE NUANCE OF IQLUSION

Solution 2

Keywords: Kryptos, Abscissa

IT WAS TOTALLY INVISIBLE HOWS THAT POSSIBLE ? THEY USED THE EARTHS MAGNETIC FIELD X THE INFORMATION WAS GATHERED AND TRANSMITTED UNDERGRUUND TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION X DOES LANGLEY KNOW ABOUT THIS ? THEY SHOULD ITS BURIED OUT THERE SOMEWHERE X WHO KNOWS THE EXACT LOCATION ? ONLY WW THIS WAS HIS LAST MESSAGE X THIRTY EIGHT DEGREES FIFTY SEVEN MINUTES SIX POINT FIVE SECONDS NORTH SEVENTY SEVEN DEGREES EIGHT MINUTES FORTY FOUR SECONDS WEST X LAYER TWO

On April 19, 2006, Sanborn contacted the Kryptos Group (an online community dedicated to the Kryptos puzzle) to inform them that the accepted solution to part 2 was wrong. He said that he made an error in the sculpture by omitting an "X" used to indicate a break for aesthetic reasons, and that the decrypted text which ended "...FOUR SECONDS WEST ID BY ROWS" should actually be "...FOUR SECONDS WEST X LAYER TWO".[10]

Note: The coordinates mentioned in the plaintext: 38°57′6.5″N 77°8′44″W; on Google Maps; analysis of the cited location. The point is about 150 feet southeast of the sculpture itself.[1]

Solution 3

SLOWLY DESPARATLY SLOWLY THE REMAINS OF PASSAGE DEBRIS THAT ENCUMBERED THE LOWER PART OF THE DOORWAY WAS REMOVED WITH TREMBLING HANDS I MADE A TINY BREACH IN THE UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER AND THEN WIDENING THE HOLE A LITTLE I INSERTED THE CANDLE AND PEERED IN THE HOT AIR ESCAPING FROM THE CHAMBER CAUSED THE FLAME TO FLICKER BUT PRESENTLY DETAILS OF THE ROOM WITHIN EMERGED FROM THE MIST X CAN YOU SEE ANYTHING Q ?

This is a paraphrased quotation from Howard Carter's account of the opening of the tomb of Tutankhamun on November 26, 1922, as described in his 1923 book The Tomb of Tutankhamun. The question with which it ends is that posed by Lord Carnarvon, to which Carter (in the book) famously replied "wonderful things". In the actual November 26, 1922 field notes, his reply was, "Yes, it is wonderful."[11]

Solution 4

Part 4 remains unsolved, though there is an active Yahoo! Group[12] (formed in 2003) that coordinates the work of over 2000 members toward decryption of the code.

When commenting in 2006 about his error in section 2, Sanborn said that the answers to the first sections contain clues to the last section.[13] In November 2010, Sanborn released another clue: Letters 64-69 NYPVTT in part 4 encode the text BERLIN.[14][15]

The dust jacket of the US version of Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code contains two references to Kryptos: One on the back cover (coordinates printed light red on dark red, vertically next to the blurbs) is a reference to the coordinates mentioned in the plaintext of part 2 (see above), except the degrees digit is off by one. When Brown and his publisher were asked about this, they both gave the same reply: "The discrepancy is intentional"; the co-ordinates were part of the first clue of the second Da Vinci Code WebQuest, the first answer being Kryptos. The other reference is hidden in the brown "tear" artwork—upside-down words which say "Only WW knows" which is another reference to Kryptos Part 2.[2][18]

Kryptos is one of the themes in Dan Brown's 2009 novel, The Lost Symbol.[1]

I think the "X" everywhere may stand for "prospect"like in topography. Allen Dulles of the CIA was Secy of State and involved in oongoings at the King Tut tomb especially I have a book about suspicious things involving the "holy of holies" area sort of hinting at things being stolen out of that arc they found and hidden.

Where he says "did you see anything, Q? "that should be "did you see anything, C? as he was Lord Carnivorn not any Q word. I think thi smeans we get to sub a 'q'' with a ç'in solving part of that second layer using all parts.

If you line up the K4 not by row but by column you get Kryptos snd arc which makes the NYP and PVT letters be separated with a "wall"of letters...like Berlin.

Be sure and look at those vlues from 2010...he has darkened certain letters on his detailed page which gives a kind of language to use.Like HRRY is dar like for 'hurry'. PALIMPSEST he mispells here PALIMPCEST. It may mean you are supposed to "see" something.

[link to graphics8.nytimes.com]

Like C Rock (the triangle with the darkened area where abscissa is on that link. The triangle could be for a cave symbol with something at either the top or bottom of it,too. Notice he has UZ JS darker...like Use JS

then on line 6 on left is GAZEL or gaze angle...and on right side you see AN HRRY...and hurry. In the center is TBLJS...this could be table and his initials JS. (he has his initials in that sculpture rock with the circle cut out area that looks triangular on the left side of the ssculpture in front. This could be principles of a sort of pig language to use and may indicate you use not just K4 but the entire thing and it appears usually you use corners.Maybe their are 8 rows you work using the entire K1-K4 after you line up Kryptos on the right in K4 so it has the Kryptos arc rocks dig showing.OR it could NOT be and he is pulling everyone's legs.

Maybe it's telling you where they hid the urim and thummin or a fake version for this Davinci Code/Kryptos CIA game. This may just be a mind game to trip us out and there is no answer or even if you exactly have it they will say nothing.

This thing is like some inkblot Rorsarch test where you can see into it what you want as there are so many choices. It may tell you where the "T" (tau) and ring like rock it fits in on the breastplate shield are but why they'd want the public to know and risk untoward ones getting it is beyond me. Especially since the CIA itself is reported to be üntoward"HQs.

The petrified rock of the sculpture came from Arizona and they made a big deal about he came right from AZ to do the sculpture. Like K4 could be X VT MT SMJ...prospect Victoria Mountain Salome Jug which is about the direction SW from Arlington where that compass rose points.

Re: Kryptos, the encrypted sculpture on the grounds of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Langley, Virginia
OP make a list of those misspellings of K1-K3.Q E Q E and U and all C instead of Q. Out of this you get U C QE QE. You see two keys. Part of the Rennes-le-Chateau mystery was the arc tools which were two and the anointing stone they hid in America for "ënd times".

If you use it this way then you get a "language" to decode the second layer.

There is a location you use shadow forces of a game played as a child to locate the "T" beside shadow numbers which add to 22 and one set is 21 so you know the T you want is white like the two 11's you add.

Like the Morse code:
DIGETAL INTERPRETATIU
T IS YOUR POSITION
SHADOW FORCES
LUCID MEMORY SOS RQ

you noticed I (EYE) ON
T SOS ROCK.

This would be telling you to look for the shadow play numbers in actual nature not just the art and keep your eye looking for the "T" rock also known as the SOS rock for saving the world from the likes of the CIA war machine. The T "rock" or artifact fits in the halo or circular type artifact. You insert the "T"in the ring to arm or activate it.Obviously I am leaving out safeguards so if a bad war loving person tried it, they would be in very bad shape.

A book on how children are taught code who are part of an elect group to pass down hidden information and treasue is in Rebel Gold by Bob Brewer and Warren Getler. This book is about treasure hidden in Arizona in the Supersitions and other locales relates it to the DaVinci Code Book grail information of treasure even to topography of France being a mirror to this location.
