It's a freaking war zone and Rahm won't call out the National Guard.

Amazes me beyond belief, I live rural area Midwest. People here don't care to know or understand the realities in inner cities.

Chicago is safe I live there. As long as you know what neighborhoods to stay out of and have basic street smarts you'll never get bothered. Don't go on the red line as a woman at 3:30am for example. If for some reason you need to be going through there act like you care about nothing other than the destination you have to get to. Don't look at thugs in the eyes twice.

Most of these shootings are between gangs anyway and if you wanna get into a Chicago gang then death and shootings are part of the game.

I know, I grew up in Harvey.

Just saying, in the year 2012 you'd think there would be more humanity rather than infinite violence.

Chicago voted for 4 more years of Obama, it's thier problem and they own it.

Obama means more money coming into our city so we'll remain happy of our decision.

I guess you will be happy until you get shot.

I live on the southwest side. True, don't even go into certain neighborhoods after dark. Been that way for decades. However, since they tore down the projects, every part of the city and surrounding suburbs has the element of crime and violence in it. No place is totally safe anymore. Don't believe the news either. We're on pace to break 500 murders this year. Just this weekend.........
