OK, so it seems that google is the scum of the internet.
I use them as a search engine and have email with them. Millions do.
Certainly, like all big companies they have some problems with greed. So does Walmart, yet I buy some stuff there.

Is google the issue here or the governments conspiring behind closed doors? Seems to me this would be a hot topic of discussion on a conspiracy site.

If there were no google there would be an open source version that works better with no ads, and no threat of some asshole only motivated to make money handling your valuable information.
