There are black people who think that the Vikings were black because they have a condition called slave mentality. It is a condition brought about by severe low self esteem and in order to make themselves feel better they begin to think they are their white master and begin to believe that their ancestors were the Vikings, Greeks, Egyptians and Charlemagne. Because his master is great and these are his ancestors then the slave needs these to be his ancestors in order to be great himself. Of course there is a problem with that. The slave is black and these people were all white. So what to do? Lie about it.

It really isn't funny to perpetuate it. It is a serious condition that shows the person suffering from it to have an extreme case of low self esteem and this can lead to other more serious conditions such as depression, suicidal thoughts and more extreme delusions.
