I have not seen an event like this in the more than two years that I have visited the NASA SOHO site. There is an explosion or CME on the back end of the Sun. Normally such an event blows out over a period of an Hour or two but this one is still in progress after 9 hours. Also why is it blacking out the background like that? Very strange [ link to sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov] [ link to sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov] Wow...what is that large, blue, disk shaped thing directly in front of the sun and blocking our view? Whatever it is, it must be huge! This certainly is strange...  Most of me thinks you're being sarcastic but a little of me thinks you're being serious.
