Jokes aside, the problem is that you can count the murders of as many people who aren't Christian and it doesn't change the fact that Christians have killed tens of millions over the last 2000 years because they thought God told them to do so. If this is strictly about atheists having a lack of morals, we can include everyone who has been murdered in the name of one's own god and the death toll is in the hundreds of millions, possibly higher.

I have to wonder... if a person commits murder because they believe the Bible told them to do so, can they plead insanity or would that discredit their faith in the first place and in turn, nullify their plea?

That's a made up story to explain the whips and the accidental death of this boy.the truth is as is in many situations is the step dad was jelouse of this boy and the attention the mom gave him, the step dad resented this boy and the boys real father and had anger towards this boy probably from the time he met the boys mom.so as a lot of step parents do he killed him out of pure hatred for the boy and his father.
