The quote is true, BUT


He is referring to Foxconn, Asia's largest technology plant. It's where 80% of cellular processors and chips are manufactured, and by cook's verb-age of skills, he is correct.

Americans don't have the capacity or the resources (currently) available to produce these products at the required rates. Nor do we have the plants to do such either. Cook is a brilliant man, and by trying to bring Apple to the states (regarding manufacturing) he is taking steps so we can one day have the skills to do so.

He is investing 100 million into plants on the west coast to "kickstart" this.





Ohh and while your at it, throw away your samsung, nokia, HTC, motorola, etc products since they are manufactured outside the US since those companies don't believe we have the skills either. Cook is calling it like it is and trying to find a solution. Have fun not using a computer since you'll be hardpressed to find a non intel chipset these days...

I bought an iPad when they first came out, worst garbage I ever bought. It can't even play video without crashing. Never again!

Unfortunately he is not far off. Americans do not understand computers and IT hardware as good as some other countries like Japan, China, and some other places.

It is a sad fact. That is why the Chinese are always hacking into us, because we have dummies running and protecting our internet.

A lot of Americans don't go to college after high school and their brains erode rendering them incapable of learning new skills that pay big... they would rather just work at Subway and not do anything for themselves.
