When TSHTF all rational and experience based decision making will be of no use. Weather patterns, support systems, animal behavior and migration patterns, and basic human civility will be dramaticly altered.

Who will have resources you can use? Are you willing to steal and murder to survive? The military industrial complex will most certainly field their forces to secure their resourses, if you could pick of the unalert stragglers of military units you could use their weapons and ammunition as well as whatever functional tech they might have. Concentrate on being outside of large groups and not being seen or detected. In a fight for survival the enemy who is never seen is the most effective at living to fight another day, are you willing to be that enemy?

Focus your efforts on states with strong military presence, and strike from cover and concealment, move at night or in the shadows and hide where most people don't want to go. Hope that most tech is destroyed and remain on the move, never staying in one place more than a couple of days and not returning to places you have been

Even so, survival most likely short lived, people will turn on one another, and those currently in power will remain to rule. Why would you want to survive to live in what's comeing anyway?
