Anywhere on a coastline or close to a nuclear facility or major river....North Texas or central US is the best place to be in my opinion....of course I live in Texas too so I might be a little partial...  There's nothing here! There's no trees, no water, scorpions, snakes, and it's hot enough to kill you in the summer! Get thyself to East Texas ASAP if it goes down. Still hot, still inhabited by venomous reptiles, but you will have water, trees & tillable soil. Exactly where I am, for the above reasons and more.
