Spittin'Cesium User ID: 14589973 Netherlands 12/07/2012 07:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This morning at 6:43 AM Central Standard Time, eyewitnesses across Texas and adjacent states saw a very bright fireball streaking across the sky, moving roughly east to west. It was also recorded by a NASA meteor camera in Mayhill, New Mexico some five hundred miles to the West, which is very unusual and testifies to the brightness of the event. Quoting: JUST HERE This was not the re-entry of Kosmos 2251, which was destroyed in a collision with an Iridium satellite in February 2009; it is a meteor, most likely a fragment from the asteroid belt and not associated with the Geminid meteor shower. [link to blog.chron.com] i went back to look at the video again and they made it WAY smaller and it goes twice as fast now! i guess they know it does NOT look like a meteor and now they are trying to make the video even harder to see. NASA: Friday’s fireball was a ‘probable’ meteorite see they dont know Yes, I saw the OP vid. The sighting was supposedly at 6:46am and the sun had not quite risen yet. This video was on the news today in Dallas, was just posting it because it shows the flash much better than the op's. I am in TX but did not see it myself, so I cannot comment as to what it was. |

What we should concern ourselves with is this... A near earth asteroid just smashed into earthy and near a densly populated populated area, and this isnt the first time recently is it? Remember canada, and other parts of the US and the worldy? The countless videos in the last five years alone show the uptick in clear terms... This means we have been increasingly bombarded with celestial rocks and they din seem to be stopping anytime soon.... What is causing them to hit us so much? I mean is the activity on the sun causing more objects to be hurled at earth via the magnetic plane? Was thereba large body of water near the location? White Hat User ID: 29174111 United States 12/07/2012 10:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I saw the flash this morning while driving, lit up the whole freeway (green), I thought a streetlight was falling or exploded... looked up (had to lean out of my window to see it). There were thousands of people who saw the flash within eye-shot of me (rush hour, 10 lane stopped traffic on I-10). I was going east, btw... i saw it's short tail following close behind going west and was slightly north of my position, although almost vertically overhead... it dissipated very quickly (4 seconds or so). I'm sure that the people who saw the flash but didn't lean out of their windows within 6 seconds would have seen nothing in the sky. The still shot in the fox link was exactly what I saw. The tail short, wispy and dissipated fast. some of the images in the other videos were not going the right direction, had too long of a tail (not sure if news using stock footage). I called the news radio station and reported it, they mentioned it 10 min later, their traffic guy saw it and reported it. It came from space (I've seen these before). I'm not sure if it was meteor or vehicle or instrument or biological. But it came in through the atmosphere. I was on the west side of houston going east. 6:42am |

It was VERY bright and I caught the initial bright ice-blue/greenish spark of light in my peripheral vision, then snapped my head over quickly as my reflexes are instant, and saw the orange/red tail. It lasted for a few seconds and then it was gone... It instantly appeared, and then was gone. I'm not sure what it was, but I believe that it may have been centralized over the panhandle area of Texas. I was driving from Lubbock heading South, and it looked as though it was maybe a couple of hundred miles do East, almost EXACTLY where the Sun rises... |
