Snip: Russell, who would have turned 44 next Sunday, had a history of theft offenses, violent crime and, on two previous occasions, fleeing police – all since 1997. He was found guilty of domestic violence in Summit County, had three convictions for receiving stolen property, one in Summit County and two in Cuyahoga. Russell also had four robbery convictions: Ohio law recognizes robbery as any theft offense involving force or threat of force. One of the stolen-property offenses also carried a felony failure-to-comply charge, in Cuyahoga County in 2008. He also was found guilty of misdemeanor failure to comply in Mentor Municipal Court earlier this year. Failure to comply is often used when a motorist is fleeing from police. The Mentor case is also noteworthy because his license was suspended, a penalty that would have been lifted only today – two days after dying while fleeing police in a car. Snip: Malissa Williams, the other occupant of the car, had five drug-related convictions in Cuyahoga county between 2004 and 2008. During that time she was also charged with rape and attempted abduction. The rape charge was dropped when she pleaded guilty to the lesser attempted abduction count. The on-line record does not carry details of that case. [link to www.cleveland.com] video of the start if the chase at this link below. Look like at least 65mph in a 25mph zone. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18595940 Does anyone know if there is better dashcam footage out there... the one in the link is from a cop car that was not very close to the actual shooting They are holding the other videos for the lawsuit, Family wants money. The video you have seen was not dash cam video either, it was a reporter on a ride along filming. Realize they had them blocked in the car was the weapon. When you try to run down 13 cops who have you blocked in it is a threat. There are some videos that will come out soon. Also ”no gun” on a LONG chase means they probably tossed anything they had early on. They will find out with powder tests on the corpses. I’ll post when they do release them. I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw. We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three. |

Yes....I'm sure that does happen. ....but it still is an uber slippery slope that anyone and everyone could fall over on one day. The problem in particular case withe the "drop gun" scenario... ...the bullet holes in the alleged "shot by the bad-guys" police car would not have matched the gun ballistics.
