If it wasnt for the continued Government assistance in buying food, Americans would be eating Bologna and cheese for dinner, no doubt.

It would have an immediate effect, stores would close, more people would lose their jobs and it would snowball faster than what it is now with the foodstamps.

Food is sky High, gas is sky high at 3 dollars a gallon or higher, it would have to return to 95 cents to a dollar a gallon to help the economy truly.

People couldnt afford Cell Phone bills, Cable Bills, Car Payments, High Insurance policys, New Clothes, new gadgets every month, and maybe even House Payments if they had to buy the food they ate instead of the government buying it for them.


Everyone I know is on Foodstamps anymore. I see hundreds of people in Wal Mart using their EBT card to buy food.

Can you imagine the bread lines if this were 1937.

Btw, I think your spot on. A lot of other industries would collapse overnight if people had to purchase foods instead of the other things you mention. It's a sad state we are in.

Come the end of the UI for 2 Million Americans, and there will be an immediate 2 Million more in a month's increase in food stamps.

Food Stamps are teh 21st Centuries answer to Bread-Lines.

Of course once the Food stuff itself goes to dust, even Food Stamps will be worthless.
