Can no one be honest and see that the industry they are within has negative and positive effects?
For example...the written word has caused people to believe all manner of nonsense and lives have been cut short.
The written word has given some people inspiration to not give up.
Are these not consequences, direct or indirect?
The majority of consequences, in all "jobs" seems to be in the manner of oppression and disturbance, sure, there are some benefits to the "few" but when we place ourselves higher than others at the cost that lowers their standards, IS it a benefit? Or a hindrance?
We call it progress, but what of the world conditions, for us, the animals, the vegetation, the very structure of the earth itself.
This forum demonstrates the views of the world condition. At least, our views in it.

Not saying we should all stop what we are doing, but some serious reform BACK to the state the earth was in is needed. If not for us, for our grand childrens children.
And if the opposite is true, that chastity and population reduction is needed to bring us all back to a spiritual state, then why the talk of conspiracy? They are on the "job"
What gives folks?

Haha, getting there.

So who gets the big slice of the dollar from all this and who are the ones poisoned due to their lack of knowledge on human foods/laziness in getting and preparing the food?
What company is increasing its profits and who loses in all of this? Have you given it any thought or do you just do it because that is where school grades and social standing have placed you and you need to pay bills? What are the conditions of life you really need? Are you oppressed or liberated in this?

Ok. I used to plant trees.

That was my job.

Consequences - more trees, less shitty old paddocks eroding and turning to salt.

These days i import heroin and sell it to primary school kids cos they're all loaded with cash.

Commercial photographer, I help trick the public into buying unneeded stuff. I feed the average person fake ideas about how if they buy this item they will lead a better life. This is a great thread, I never realized how I contribute to people going into debt. putting false ideas into peoples heads.

I think I will start leaning into portraits to help people dig deeper about who they really are. spiritual and uplifting images.

This really has me thinking.

Thank you

I am a jaded state worker. I thought I was going to be helping poor people with access to services that would enrich their lives. It took a few years to realize that pumping money in to poor areas often robs people of their own resourses and desire to help themselves. I realized many coworkers and supervisors were there to give hand outs to family and friends. I complained and tried to confront the problems, and was harassed to a disgusting point, but bringing up wistle blower issues protects from being fired. I now focus on helping those who want to help themselves within the system of my job. My boss hates me, but has been forced to stop harassing me and has curbed all the nepotism. I am waiting for a better job, but will not leave until I can take my pension with me, just another year. I believe the state gives the benefits of the program out under the guise of aid to really collect personal income info and to encourage participation in state run businesses. I am waiting for the script to flip and power to shift and am prepared to assist from the inside.

I am a fitness instructor. I take great pride knowing that I am helping people stay In shape. The biggest satisfaction is knowing how many people I really do help overall. Seniors especially, with their balance.

The only consequence it's bringing to the world, is keeping people from going to the doctor as much.

My job is looking for a job. Its not a fun job its not lucrative but it has a very important impact on me and mine and its not good. I keep keeping on and keep on applying and applying and applying and hope I'll get something. The only thing that makes it matter to someone else and has World impact is my unemployment runs out very soon and when it does I'll be destitute but I'll no longer be on the US governent entitlement program any longer. One thing I have learned is how little it takes to make me happy and live. I think my husband's learned the same. He just started a new job and he's an HVAC master installer so things are looking up but we're kind of a liberated couple and don't really intermingle our funds so I'm sure when my unemployment runs out it will be a pain to him to have to pay the bills my pay does, and that sucks. I like being independent. As far as what I did before I have a job looking for a job, I've been an artist, a musician, a secretary, and AP/AR person, a clerk, sold Harleys, an automotive service advisor, a mortgage loan officer (and I was a good one and slept well at night because I wouldn't do bad loans), a mortgage processor, a real estate paralegal, a convenience store manager, and I'd like to make a difference in the world but I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up and I'm 44.

Re: Name your "job" and tell us how and why it matters to anyone else and ALL the consequences it brings into the world
I used to temp as general office help. It is astonishing how much of that work is pretend work. I mean...pick up random papers, walk briskly around the floor, stop to greet everyone who is not busy, stand by the file cabinet, look perplexed, circle the room the opposite direction, hope to be asked a question so you can walk across the building to learn the answer, return to desk, check voice mail, go to the bathroom, basically act like a movie extra in an office scene.

In workplaces with actual work, I've found stashes of unfiled legal documents under rugs and in potted plants, intentionally stuck up under file drawers, or slid behind file cabinets.

A whole lot of payroll hours has no productive value, or a negative productive value.

I've concluded many jobs are nothing more than adult day care.

I've met women who work full time, but after taxes, spend their daily earnings on McDonalds, cigarettes, and Starbucks. They break even. Not a dollar makes it home. But work is their life. Its where their friends are. its an awful lot like junior high school, only you can drive and smoke without fear.

I am a stay at home parent. Before you yell, no I am not on welfare. My husband supports me. In return, I cook, clean the house, manage the bills and do everything else domestically.

The upside: I teach my kids what I want them to know, morally and everywhere else. I take responsibility for my progeny and I am the one that in the end is held accountable for their behavior. How does it affect the world? It doesn't. But by God, my children are not the heathens running around a store screaming and being assholes, so it makes it more pleasant for you (and I).

The downside: I am not that interesting because I watch cartoons all day. The consequence to the world? You don't have to put up with my kid being over tired, over stimulated and being raised by someone else where you have to see them.

BC and DR for EMEA and global for a certain percentage roughly 60% of multinationals.
Most of these companies rely on my plans to enable them to continue operation.
If my processes fail these companies are at risk of complete shutdown.

No one checks my plans but the ISO standards make them audit-able. However I have an override on all these plans and can change them on the fly without approvals.

Looking into building an off-world BCDR center so we can see the world collapse and still maintain operations.

People think I am important but I know I can be replaced in a blink of an eye.

Probably I matter if TSHTF more than most of these companies realize. At least I have a seat reserved on whatever transportation will take us away from the disaster.

That's just my job paying the bills, my real job is to make people happy.
