Start with great advice and lots of support. You want first of all to stop gaining - that's more important than most people realize and don't congratulate themselves on a very important step achieved!

Grab these two links and watch them over and over - until you get it. These can save you a fortune in medical costs later in life and more importantly, can save your quality of life.

It's so painful to see many people when they hit their 50's and 60's develop just crushing health problems, most of which could have been avoided. The high blood pressure is a BIG red flag.

If you can, get a real dietition to work with you, or naturopath. They study nutrition and its effect on health. My MD has both in his group. You have to look, but it's time well spent.

If you can't get your own doctor cause you're dead poor, try reading the paleo websites and books. There is much to be said for that path.

Best of luck. Please come back every couple months and let us know how it goes.

I can't give medical advice but if my exercise regimen gave me cramps and a whole week of soreness, I'd pull back to walking and use only light weights for toning until getting to the point where recovery is swift and expected - and slowly build up from there.
