I lived as a foreigner in the US for some years when I was younger (late 80s/early 90s). My impressions are generally positive. People seemed "big hearted" and friendly. They have a dynamic, foward-thinking mentally and optimism. As negative traits I would say they are are prone to overly simplistic and black-and-white thinking. But overall I had a positive experience.

I really miss American BBQ sauce. It's hard to come by here.

Are you really that not cultured? Travel, some Nations love us and some simply don't like us. It is also misleading because I have found people who loved me in counties that generally don't like us and vice versa

Why do you care what non Americans think of us or our country? Fuck them! I mean that respectfully. I lived and have been stationed overseas and as much as I loved it and the people where I served and embraced their history and culture I couldn't care less as to their opinion of our country. The only opinion that matters is our own.

Where did all the American icons go? Elvis, Apollo, Kennedy, Martin King, Hemingway, Sinatra, Reagan, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe etc. To me. America was all about leading the way, something that is sadly lacking these days.
