Could THIS be the "THEY" that I am looking for?

A gift was given to Daniel to interpret dreams. The king was unable to interpret the meaning of his own dream. He did not understand the symbolism. The dream was frightening to him.

He was to ask what the interpretation was so he could understand it. He asked several times for his dream to be interpreted and they told him "We can't interpret your dream unless you tell us what you dream was." (paraphrasing) and the King was not satisfied with that answer. He not only wanted somebody to interpret his dream, but he wanted somebody to know what his dream was without him having to tell them what it was. This ability, I believe, if I remember correctly was given to Daniel. Daniel told the King his dream and interpreted it for him.

In verse 11, that you pointed out, his servants were trying to tell him no human being can KNOW your dream as you are expecting us to AND interpret it, only gods could do this (because they couldn't and saw it as impossible).

I just double-checked and yes, that's right. Don't look for hidden meanings. It means what it says, OP. It's not talking about DNA or anything like that. If you read all of it, you would know.

Read verse 19 and on, it looks like... the ability was given to Daniel so that his life would be spared because if he wasn't able to meet this impossible request of the king, he would have been killed, so God made it possible.

All this desire for money ... and jewels and "BLING" ...

If you keep reading from Daniel 2:19 on and get to verse 31, he begins to tell the king the exact dream he had and what it meant. It continues until verse 45, then in verse 46 the king fell on his face in front of Daniel because he knew what he had done was a miracle and goes on to say in 47 "Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret."

Hope this makes it clearer.
