Quoting: CROW Back in 1956 Samuel Seymour, from Maryland, went on the popular game show "I've Got A Secret" and his secret was pretty shocking. He witnessed the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in 1865 when he was 5 years old. At the time of the show taping, he was 96 and died two months later. As you can see from the video, he was not in the greatest condition and was even urged not to go on the show but Seymour insisted on it. See sometimes youtube can bring us more than cat videos and parodies. It can also resurrect cool moments in history you might have otherwise missed. So watch it now quick so you can get back to watching that video of cats dancing to Gangnam Style. CROW That is amazing, to think also that seeing this man who was around over 150 years ago. He was alive during the Civil War, he was in his 40s when man first achieved flight. He was 69 during the beginning of the Great Depression. |

How about those Winston ads up front, and lets give the 96 yr old a big tin of pipe tobacco for showing up. The host said the 96 yr old had a fall in the hotel, but his doctor gave him clearance to do the show, did his fall from going on this show contribute to his death two weeks later, could be. Also thought the celebrity guests were scripted, the hint was he witnessed an event, and the first guest immediately zeroed in on political event, didn't seem natural, or maybe celebrities were way smarter then, then they are now. And was that Lucy and Ricky who didn't get to answer? Packed full of strangeness. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1634496 United States 12/12/2012 04:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | that was impressive! Thank you for sharing that. Makes me think of the film 'The Grey Fox' (based on a true story) in which the lead character had been released from prison in 1901 after a 33 year sentence. He had previously been a stagecoach robber and was now cast into the 20th century without a clue on where his life would lead next. An old man in a modern world, he's taken by all of the new technological advances --the phonograph, the first motorcars and the cinema! It's at a film depicting a train robbery that he decides to move to Canada to try his hand at this line of work. |

Along those lines...here's some "live" footage of the MacKay Bennett, a ship that was chartered by the White Star Line, departing port to search for bodies from the Titanic disaster... And its funny, I drove for "Kitty Carlisle" on "Whats my Line?" in the 1980's for my Mom's ex Boss (wasn't working, in between jobs)(PennySaver Boss), who was part of NY State Arts Development". I drove her someplace in NYC, and she was on "Whats my Line?" (similar show). She was a decent lady as I remember! Small World! (Six degrees of Separation). Plus knew Obama's young girl (brought to White House) (Homeless family) from Brentwood, NY, from Library over there.. |
