It should be redeveloped. Sprinkle salt around it or whatever is supposed to evict the old resident spirits, which may be a bit on the extreme side. But what a fabulous piece of real estate, replace the doors and windows and redo the insides.

I can support a number of those statements, lived in Newtown from 1996 to 2006, my father in law still owns his house there on land deeded the family by King George before the revolutionary war

I have posted quite a few links here about Fairfield Hills and the many government contractors located in Danbury and Sandy Hook

Michael Aquino was active with government groups which are said to develop mind control/brainwashing techniques. I was not aware of him living in Newtown, but I would not be surprised. Quite a few celebrities live in Redding and Westport, why not a few miles up the road as well?

Dudleyville is also not too far, plus quite a few unmarked but known (to realtors) homes built on indian graveyards and sites of some some ancient weirdness

I had a tennant in my guest house who had once worked for GE Capital and would tell me wild stories about their connection with very high level scientologists. I cannot verify if that is true, but I have tried to contact that guy (he still lives in Newtown) to see if I can get more insight...he was a conspiracy theorist so I believe he would know if anyone did

Newtown has always been upscale, esp the Taunton Hill area. My next door neighbor there was the doctor who invented the methadone treatment program for addicts and lived on over 50 acres on old Bethel Rd. In the past 10 years it became even more filled with those kinds of people as Westport and Weston became so expensive that those seeking large homes and good schools were pushed to commute longer and longer hours into NYC from upper Fairfield county

Also not mentioned, but I remember well, is when the violent white supremacist group World Church of the Creator set up shop in the Hawleyville part of Newtown (I got a flyer in my mailbox)

But that said, on the surface it was as calm and pretty as most of those little towns in Fairfield, filled with rolling hills, stone walls and colonial homes

and yes...some definite darkness behind scenic lawns, along with some very well educated and kind people as well

Personally, I would be looking at the large pretty dark psychic presence of Fairfield Hills, which imho was hopping with "critters" and just about as possessed as a place can be...and maybe a mile or two away from Sandy Hook

In The Hunger Games, the characters all live in a post rebellion North America call Panem. The Capitol is in the Rocky Mountains somewhere. East of there were 13 districts each charged with producing something for the Capitol. District 13 supposedly no longer exists by the time the book rolls around. Our heroine, Katniss Everdeen lives in District 12. Her district is very poor and they mine coal.

It is the Day of Reaping. The 12 Districts much each present 2 "tributes" between the ages of 12 and 18. One boy and one girl. It is possible to volunteer. But, most are drawn by lottery since of these 24 tributes, only one is allowed to live. If you're 12, you will die because how can a 12 year old fight kids as much as six years older? But, Katniss's sister Primrose Everdeen is called. Katniss, who can use a bow, volunteers to take her place. The District 12 boy is Peeta Mellark.

As District 12 hasn't had a winner for maybe 40 years, they are pretty miserable as they sit on the train that whisks them to their capitol. Haymitch, the prior winner, is drunk and rude. Though, he decides to help them.

The Capitol's general population only views these games as entertainment because THEY DON'T PARTICIPATE. In the districts, watching is REQUIRED BY LAW. And it's been going on for 74 years. People in the Capitol bet which tribute will win.

So, yes, I can see how someone may find this significant.

I have never watched the movie nor read the books because I refuse to participate in something that claims the lives of innocents.

It's like "Cabin in the Woods" the beast needs to be fed a certain number of dead every year.

The book is told from Katniss's POV. She is very much against The Hunger Games and believes they're just the Capitol saying, "look, we can kill your children." But, she is a poor girl from a poor district. So, there is little she can do about it.

She tries to conduct herself honorably in the games. She allies herself with a 12 year old, for example. But, the games are really horrible.

I think the author maybe looked at reality TV and wondered what it'd come to if things kept on trend. But, she sets it into the future in a reordered North America.

The people of the Capitol are provided everything they need from the districts. The game organizers give some cash prizes to the winner. But, few tributes really believe they'll be the winner. Most are just trying not to bring any punishment or hardship onto their families.

Interestingly, the districts know little of one another. Such as Katniss from 12 has no idea what Rue from 11 (an agriculture district) might do day to day. She is surprised that even in an agriculture district, the average person is often hungry.

I hate that film. Only saw the first "Hunger Games" film in a movie theatre (with my (at that time) 17 year old teen daughter). I left when kids starting hunting kids. It made me SO angry, I demanded my money back, and kicked up a big (worthy of GLPr) fuss. I'm STILL mad. Of course, my daughter was mortified, but it was a teachable moment. People had brought their young children to that film. Darkest thing I ever saw. Now my daughter is 21, she understands my behavior after studying psychology, and reeading alternative media. Kids get it if parents TEACH. It is the darkest kind of mind control out there. Kids hunting kids, (egged on by crazy money mad adults). Nothing more prophetic or worst that I can imagine in he darkest part of my psyche.

I guess I should explain that I taught high school students, and one of my students tried to murder another student by cutting his face to ribbons (right outside my classroom) My perspective has been altered by trauma, so If people are ok exposing themselves to kids killing kids (even on film) you can never unsee that. It was that time that I started GLP, so it altered my consciousness.

The Hunger Games is the doomiest of pre teen doom series.

I thought how fucked up is that story when it first came out.
