Then an old white guy in a robe - again, no identification of his 'church' or what kind of faith he represents. "God has many names..." "... When Jesus felt the need to get away for some respite for Himself...a great number of people in need always followed... He looked on them with compassion. Anoint all your people, Lord, all those who minister... as they minister to the whole community of Sandy Hook and Newtown... as a model for the world... ".... And we ask this all. Amen. Amen." OMG See, we don't ask this all IN JESUS' NAME anymore, do we? |

dmore4 User ID: 22731168 United States 12/16/2012 08:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Baha'i :Jesus Christ was a "Manifestation" of God Baha'is view Jesus' as merely one of many manifestations or prophets of the divine. They also deny the deity of Christ and his miracles, and argue that Jesus never claimed to be God's only Son. They further deny that Jesus was God. In fact, Baha'i theology views Jesus as being inferior to Baha'u'llah, much as Islam views Jesus to be inferior to Muhammad. They argue that messianic passages such as Isaiah 9:2-7; 11:1-2; 40:1-5; and 53 are references to Baha'u'llah, and that the "Spirit of truth" that Jesus spoke of in John 14-16, was not the Holy Spirit, but was actually a reference to Baha'u'llah. The Baha'is view Jesus death as insignificant and serving only as an example of self sacrifice. They don't believe that Christ rose from the dead, or that his death brought about salvation. They interpret the biblical account of Christ's resurrection as something that went on in the minds of the disciples, rather than a physical, literal resurrection. Abdul Baha said, "The disciples were troubled and agitated after the martyrdom of Christ...The Cause of Christ was like a lifeless body; and, when after three days the disciples became assured and steadfast...his religion found life, his teachings and his admonitions became evident and visible." |

"Newtorn is the place that love children above all... We are also a place that has great pride in our schools... We will do everything we can to help them (the families) heal..." "It is a defining moment for our town, but it does not define us... We are defined by acts of courage, acts of love, and our continuing commitment to our children and families... "It is my pleasure ladies and gentlemen, to present to you Governor _____" GOVERNOR: Talks about the music in the hall as people arrived. It was the hymn "Amazing Grace." He says it was written by the captain of a slave ship, which is true, quoting "I once was lost, but now am found." "... a faith by which we are given the power to go on. To survive that which has befallen this community..." He continues with a metaphor of winter, followed by spring. He says with every snowfall, he will remember "those 27 souls." "Faith is a gift, as is our ability to support one another in our community..." "We are blessed today to have with us the President of the United States..." |

Though outwardly, we are wasting away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day... We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen." I don't know what translation he is reading from - "The Message?" "... Here in Newtown, I come to offer the love and prayers of a nation. I am very mindful that mere words cannot match the depths of your sorrow, nor can they heal your wounded hearts. I can only hope it helps for you to know that you are not alone in your grief, that our world too has been torn apart, that all across this land of ours we have wept with you...." "Whatever measure of comfort we can provide, we will provide..." He names the school staff, who responded with courage and love, "giving their lives to protect the children in their care." Now he's making a couple of jokes. He can't resist. Boy, he enjoys this. So now he launches into lecturing the audience about what parenthood means. "...But we as a nation, we are left with some hard questions. Someone once described the joy and anxiety of parenthood as the equivalent of having your heart outside of your body all the time, walking around. With their very first cry, this most precious, vital part of ourselves, our child, is suddenly exposed to the world, to possible mishap, or malice. And every parent knows, there is nothing we will not do to shield our children from harm. And yet we know that with each step... that we can't always be there for them..." "NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU LOVE YOUR KIDS, You CANNOT DO IT BY YOURSELF..." |

"... doing enough to give all our children a chance to live out their lives with happiness and with purpose..." "... No, we're not doing enough. And we'll have to change..." Then he says this is the 4th time in his Presidency he has consoled victims of mass shootings. "We can't tolerate this anymore. These tragedies must end. And to end them, we must change..." "... If there's even one step we can take to save another child, another parent, another town..." "... Surely we have an obligation to try..." "In the coming weeks I'll use whatever power my office holds..." |

None of these people are wearing a visible Cross, by the way. "... And so tonight, for our community, a community deeply pained, we ask you to heal the brokenness, answer our questions, replace our doubts with certainty, anger with love... and not to fall apart. Amen." Next, Young man with dark hair, dark suit, white collar. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25447468 Just remember what christians did under hitler's rule. Nope, Hitler detested christians and Christianity. They were victims, to a far greater percentage than homosexuals. In fact, over 87% of all German homosexuals were never bothered by Hitler at all, as he was bi at least. When he wanted to get rid of a particular homo( many leadding Nazis were homos) he used it against them, but there were never any roundups of homosexuals. Hitler abbhored Christianity. |
